OVERVIEW
Event flyers have always been an essential medium for people to engage with and discover music. The impact of a successful flyer brings artists and audiences together, for a single moment in time. They can become legendary in the memories of audiences, commemorating shared music experiences.
In this workshop, independent designer Nada Sultan shares her creative and practical process of creating and prototyping an original event flyer.
ABOUT NADA SULTAN
Nada is a Cairo-based independent designer specialised in building visual identities with a focus on poster design and lettering, and with experimentation and storytelling at the heart of her process. Interested in how the internet shapes the human experience, she enjoys working in the music, festival and merch sectors.
🎨 PARTICIPANTS WILL
- Conceptualise, design, and test print a music event flyer .
- Explore poster design through research, composition, typography, illustration & colour, and storytelling.
- Benefit from the guidance of workshop leaders’ insights, creative process and resources.
- Selected designs will have the chance to be featured on the
@daybreakcairo page, & at upcoming Daybreak events!
✂️ REQUIREMENTS
- Open to all designer levels/backgrounds
- Laptops with Adobe suite, iPads with ProCreate, or similar softwares are recommended, but not essential.
- Paper and pens, Brown Nose coffee and tasty baked slices will be provided.
