Posted @withregram@everylastoneofus PROJECT BLUE BEAM: a chapbook + essay by @incorgem and @everylastoneofus exploring one of the most sensational conspiracy theories of the late 20th century. Rooted in Serge Monast’s claims that NASA and global elites planned a staged alien invasion and false messiah, the work asks why ideas like this endure, drawing on media studies, psychology, and religious history. It connects Blue Beam to traditions of apocalyptic thinking, technological anxiety, and mistrust of authority, while also embracing the aesthetics of conspiracy: chaotic collages, found images, speculative leaps. Academic critique meets cultural fragments to show how myth, media, and belief intertwine in the conspiratorial imagination. (Very) limited edition. 64 pages. Printed on Risograph (#0073BA Blue / #AC936E Metallic Gold) by @nothingnewprojects . Available 09/05.

Like many creatives, I juggle more than one thing—art practice, risograph publishing, graphic design, arts administration. I sometimes struggle to present these different sides of my work cohesively and end up not sharing them at all. Trying not to wait until it’s perfect and just do it anyway. If you’ve been here a minute it’s no surprise I’m passionate about books and have been lucky to collaborate with incredible artists and organizations to translate exhibitions, projects, and artworks into print. Here’s a stack of publications I’ve designed over the last few years: Future Possible: An Art History of Newfoundland and Labrador - A comprehensive look at the province’s artistic legacy, edited by @mireilleeagan and published by @therooms_nl From the Lion’s Den – Will Gill’s exhibition catalogue documenting work created during his transformative residency at Fogo Island Arts. Co-published by @willgill_newfoundland and @christinaparkergallery Culture & Tradition - A redesign for the Canadian Student Journal of Folklore and Ethnography, featuring Jerry Ropson’s artwork on the cover. Published by the Folklore department at Memorial University of NL. @ropson.studio Pandemic Portraits - Michelle MacKinnon’s artist book of over 100 intimate watercolours capturing community and resilience during isolation. Co published by @michelleleahmackinnon and the @grenfellartgallery Islandness – A transatlantic collaboration between Jane Walker (Newfoundland) and Vivian Ross-Smith (Shetland) exploring northern island life through traditional materials, contemporary practice and community engagement. @islandnessart @janevwalker @vrosssmith Edges and Other Poems - Heather Nolan’s self-published poetry collection responding to the pandemic’s shutdown, a slim chapbook with custom endpapers by @krista_power Risograph printed by my pals at @colourcodeprint @heatherofnoland stay here, stay how, stay - Catalogue for Daze Jefferies’ first major solo exhibition exploring transfeminine belonging in NL through oceanic archives and spectral mermaids as trans foremothers. Curated by @emilycritchart and published by The Rooms. @oceanleaving

Unidentified Big Cat Sightings in Newfoundland By James March ”Big cat sightings in Newfoundland, Canada have been reported for decades, with sightings of cougars, panthers, and other large felines being reported across the province. While some sightings have been confirmed through photographic and video evidence, many remain unverified and are the subject of much debate and speculation among local residents and wildlife experts. Unidentified Big Cat Sighting in Newfoundland is a chapbook that examines material evidence of these elusive animals, forming a basis for further contemplation on their presence on the island. The book is a collection of prose, interviews, and screenshots, largely gathered from secondary sources.” www.jamesmar.ch Risograph printed in light teal in St. John's NL.
