This Saturday we welcome back Dub n Grub ft the incredible @channelonesoundsystem a crew that have travelled all over the world promoting reggae, dub, roots and sound system music. This will be the first time they have played an indoor venue you in Cumbria. This event starts early at 3pm with Little Rocket, @north_west_steppas, Arborist and North Fire crew on warm up duties. We also have @nemsartonstudio with a stall selling her hand made creations.Food will be served at an extra cost from 5pm onwards.There is still some tickets left but they have started to shift. New book added to the collection about @leeroy_thornhill and his time spent travelling the world with @theprodigyofficial from early 90s onwards legendary stuff. I was lucky enough to meet some of The Prodigy crew last summer and they nowt but kind and time for the chat. Been listening to and skanking out to them since I was 7 years old when fat of the land came out and my sister was blasting it out of her bedroom. I used to give it my best go breakdancing as you do as wee nipper in front of the mirror. Prodigy created a unique style and sound of dance music as they came through the scene. Still at it 35 years later RIP Keith Flint #twistedfirestarter

Playing at the legendary @walknskank in Glasgow alongside @breezakbass the teacher and chief that helped to establish @northfiresound. Walk N Skank was set up by @mungoshifi and ran in Glasgow for many years hosting some the worlds finest DJs, producers and MCs within the dub, reggae and bass music scene.#glasgow #clubnight #soundsystem #culture

Busy working on the promotion for @northfiresound & @samedia_shebeen in Ulverston on Friday 13th February tickets available via @skiddleuk. First outing for the sound system in the far south of Cumbria. Iv been working with Samedia on and off since 2011 whether it be tent hire, sound hire, drumming or DJing Iv lost count of how many amazing events we have done together. @leedsfestival_ 2004 one of the first main stream festivals I attended at 14 years old. Sunday night of the festival always finished early so it was customary for the event camp site to turn into a battle field with people burning their tents setting fire to bins, pushing over festoon poles to make huge bonfires burning gas canisters. Riot police, security and fire services would be involved to break it up and put it out. I think this was the first time I witnessed complete chaos in the form of a riot. I managed to capture this image of Monday morning to sum up the whole affair.

Throwback to 2010 I moved to Bristol to attend music college and started playing drums for live drum & bass band @drmeaker. Was a wild few years of city life with a heavy intro into sound system culture, free parties and events in the south of England. This was the year we played on the @arcadia stage at @glastofest.#livedrumandbass #bristol #liveband #glastobury

Between the years 2013 and 2019 I did a load of DJ gigs with the @peoples_rave_unit_ aka The Police Rave Unit a fully kitted out rave machine with battery powered sound system built by @minirigs. We had a right laugh playing street parties & festivals. Memorable moments there was a killer b2b with @nemsarton on the garden at @kelburnparties with members of live reggae band @onlyjoe_london @mistajago and @tomspirals stepping on the mic to host the set. The street corner rave at @boomtownfairofficial with easily 1000 people getting down to it. There was also a time at @glastofest when we got stuck in a traffic jam directly parallel next to a real police riot van with 20 coppers inside who were not impressed with us. Big ups all the police rave unit crew we had ball !!!#keepraving #savetherave #uk #festivals #minirig
