Last week, I conducted William Waltonâs Belshazzarâs Feast with the @bozemansymphony and Symphonic Choir. On the first half was Debussyâs Clair de Lune transcribed by Stokowski and Mahlerâs RĂŒckert Lieder, sung gloriously by @iamlesterlynch
This was a highlight for my career. I knew Belshazzarâs Feast was epic, but I didnât know it was going to be like THAT! Iâve never felt so much energy on the podium as I did on Saturday night for the first performance. My deep gratitude goes out to every member of the Bozeman Symphonic Choir for spending months learning this extremely difficult work. It wouldnât have been possible without @conor_whalenconductor and his leadership đ
I was also deeply moved by Lesterâs artistry and care for Mahler. Every measure was inspiring.
The orchestra was a spectacular, versatile, and brought the đ„ to all three works.
Iâm truly grateful to serve this amazing community in Bozeman, MT.

I had a blast conducting three performances of Tchaikovskyâs Sleeping Beauty in a historic collaboration between @montanaballet and @bozemansymphony .
We removed two rows of seats to be able to expand the size of the orchestra and it was SO worth it!
It was great to welcome @nycballet principals @ilafreniere and @rtomash to Bozeman. Bravo to @montanaballet company dancers and cast! Melissa Bowman, your vision for MBC is inspiring and loved your artistry.
Last but not least , the wonderful musicians of the Bozeman Symphony and the many beautiful featured solos. Yâall were excellent and Iâm truly grateful for the opportunity to conduct this great piece!
It is so fun to witness a bandâs first experience hearing their music with orchestra. Itâs even more thrilling to hear an audience react to their favorite bandâs music in the most epic way - with an orchestra. The crowd at @benaroyahall tonight was absolutely on fire for Head and the Heart AND the @seattlesymphony . It was so great to see these wonderful musicians again. It is always a delight to make music with all of you. @sso_players_organization

These concerts are some my favorite to program and conduct. I love hosting from the stage, telling jokes and stories. In these concerts, I find the beauty in humanity through the lens of music making. We have more in common than what the internet leads us to believe. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! đđ đŸđŸ
