A few weeks ago I saw @ama_lianne_sewing wearing a great pair of pants and I knew that was the pattern I needed! @ready_to_sew Emile Pants. At the same time I saw this Lilac linen viscose blend and a lovely seersucker in pink and blue at @nooteboomtextiles . And as always I'm a sucker for seersucker so a match was made.

Sewing a scalloped edge is easier than it looks… if your machine has a built-in scallop stitch. No tracing, no carefully sewing curves with a straight stitch. Just set the width and length and let the machine do the work. I was amazed at how easy it is to create such a beautiful decorative hem finish.
I used this technique on the hem and sleeves of a muslin top, and the result is such a clean, professional finish.
Here's how to sew a scalloped edge:
♎️Iron fusible interfacing to the wrong side of the facing. This gives the scallops a crisp, defined edge. Important with lightweight fabrics.
📐Place or fold the facing right sides together and let the side of your presser foot guide the stitching.
✂️Trim close to the stitching, clip into each inner point, and snip the curves.
🤸♀️Turn everything right side out, shape the scallops with a point turner, and press flat (gently, don’t flatten muslin’s texture).
😎If the facing wants to flip outward, secure it with a blind hem stitch for a clean invisible finish.

Clonando una prenda inspirada en Sézane 🤍✨
Para coserla he utilizado un tejido pontillé en blanco roto combinado con tela de puño, todo de @nooteboomtextiles

Me encanta la textura tan delicada y especial de esta tela, perfecta para recrear este tipo de prendas básicas pero con un toque diferente ✨
Además, encontré un patrón de costura gratuito perfecto para utilizar como base y le hice algunas pequeñas modificaciones para conseguir un resultado más parecido a la camiseta original de Sézane ✂️

Este Punto Knit Big de @nooteboomtextiles me ha dado totalmente esa sensación.
Tiene una caída preciosa, es cómodo de llevar y hace que incluso las prendas más simples se vean mucho más especiales 🪡
Además, ya he utilizado este tejido en otros patrones gratuitos y patrones de costura que os he enseñado por aquí, y la verdad es que funciona súper bien para coser ropa cómoda y bonita 🩶
En este caso he cosido el patrón Kira de Style Arc y aunque mucha gente decía que parecía complicado, me ha resultado bastante más sencillo de coser de lo que esperaba 😅
Ya sabéis que me encantan los patrones con nudos, cruces y giros porque hacen que una prenda básica tenga algo diferente ✨
Y sinceramente… he disfrutado muchísimo cosiéndolo 😂

A little sewing note: the original pattern is actually for a shirt. Since the shirt runs straight down and we wanted to turn it into a dress, we simply added 25 cm straight down at the bottom of the pattern for size 116. A smart way to get even more out of your patterns!

Instant summer bomber jacket with this new fabric and old pattern. The 2017 sewing pattern has a fresh volume silhouette. Just my luck hoarding old(er) sewing patterns🙈
I've used a lilac and orange linen blend fabric and a two way zipper. No lining needed. Isn't it an ultimate summer layering piece?

🪡 DIY Sjaaltje 🪡
Helemaal trendy nu, een sjaaltje. Voor om je hals of door je broekband. Ik maakte er twee in het atelier van @nooteboomtextiles
Ik gebruikte hiervoor een prachtig gekleurde voile stof uit de batik collectie van #nooteboomtextiles , knipte een vierkant van 60x60 cm, werkte de sjaaltjes af met een rolnaad met behulp van de prachtige @bernina.benelux L860 lockmachine. Nog even het draad einde wegstoppen en je sjaaltje vouwen en tadaa, klaar!
Leuk voor jezelf of je kids!
Ik combineerde het sjaaltje hier met een Hazel jurkje van @_beletoile_ in een super zachte katoenen jersey met lila streepjes uit de baby & kids collectie van Nooteboom.
