EGBAW: Key Art Comps. A couple of these were in the running for a bit, but they still missed the mark. ––– The directions set out to collaborate with talented photographers to see America through a different lens. The series or Jammie by Sacha Jenkins takes a humorous approach on difficult topics, allowing the viewer to see just how f@cked up things have been and are for BPOC. ––– The comps presented photos by: Alexis Hunley, Gregory Prescott, Clifford Prince King, and Dana Scruggs (unfortunately we didn’t go this route). Surface Redesign: Cover. Started to reconsider what “surface” could be, what happens beneath the surface is usually more interesting. The Soft Bit: Record Sleeve. A bit of fun on this project, considering how to blur and distort hard and soft bits literally and metaphorically. —- Designed last year for @janairmert and @fabrique_records photo by @camille_blake —- The last two frames are the finals that went to press. The typeface can be considered hard or cold, but the way it sits on the image is soft and atmospheric. The letters disappear from a distance and reappear when at an arms length. Place determines your ability to understand and decipher the important bits. —- #music #albumart #yveskleinblue #design
