I spent way too long in pre-production and only had two weeks left to animate. I wanted to quit so many times, but every finished section made me go, “dang it that looks cool, alright keep going.” Cue 3am wakeups, 10pm pass-outs, and full delirium…but I got it done and I’m proud of it.
The character in this piece is an OC I designed in 2021. My love for bold colours clearly hasn’t changed. I’ve wanted to animate her for ages and this was finally the moment.
Huge inspiration came from
@bol_house ’s breakdowns and
@blansable 's simple storyboards and frame-within-frame vibes. I also really wanted 3D in this project after doing schoolofmotion’s C4D course, but since I finished the character animation on the literal last day…yeah, the 3D didn’t make it 😂 next time.
The dance reference came from me looping the song and dancing over and over, then stitching together the least chaotic parts. I love to dance but that doesn’t mean I’m good at it 😅
Once the song and reference were set, the storyboard and animatic fell into place and it was straight into animation. Huge shoutout to script #overlord and especially to
@gabriel_gareso #cleanupmaster it was an absolute game changer.
It’s not perfect, but it’s mine, and I’m proud I finished something this big on my own.
