DJs n0be (gloomy june) and Sina-True (The Box, The Gallows) entertaining a beautiful crowd at the April edition of Beat Alchemists "The Lab".
The Lab occurs each fourth Friday at Cat Alley Street, a beautifully renovated new venue upstairs above the Catalyst Club in downtown Santa Cruz, CA. Beat Alchemists are a crew of DJs and electronic musicians from the California central coast who I am a proud member of!
A couple of months ago, I was DJing at Cat Alley Street, upstairs above the catalyst.
I went downstairs for a break and heard this amazing music coming from a DJ the atrium. I lingered outside and listened for a few songs and once the show was over, I went inside to talk to her.
This was DJ n0be, aka Alexi Rose Belchere (who also happens to be front person from the band gloomy June). We got along great immediately and I took her for a tour of the upstairs Cat Alley Street.
Like many, she was blown away by the beautifully renovated new space. We were lucky enough to stay in contact and last night, Beat Alchemists featured DJ n0be at our monthly residency The Lab!
Alexi blew our minds and made our asses shake. She's so fun, super animated and throwing curveballs left and right. She embraces open format DJing, which is my favorite approach. No limits and no rules, taking command of the room!
Aside from her amazing music she's just a super cool person with a great and humble vibe. Super professional, easy to work with and great communication. Cat Alley Street is hoping to have her back soon!
