BIG NEWS: I mixed and mastered the new Vulfpeck record!
I’m incredibly honored to be entrusted with the Vulf sound on this record and so excited to share the music with everyone!

Just heard the news that the Mixtape I recorded with Mac Miller a decade ago just got re-released!
He had gotten my number from someone and called me out of the blue when he was on tour in Chicago to ask if he could record that night. We set it up and he then called me back 10 minutes later to make sure I had "good microphones and stuff" I said "I absolutely have good microphones and stuff" and a few hours later he showed up at Rax Trax
That night we recorded the title track "I Love Life, Thank You"
The following night he came back and we ended up recording Pranks 4 Players feat Sir Michael Rocks
That night he had a show before the session and was running 3 hrs late. He texted me every 15 minutes to assure me that he was still coming and that I was getting paid for the time I waited for him.
He absolutely did not need to do that shit. That kind of gesture is certainly not standard for people of his stature in the industry. I was 22 and green and he was blowing up. He could have easily gotten away with being dismissive or unconcerned with my feelings. Instead he showed me a huge amount of respect.
He was wide open with the creative process and let me be a real part of it rather than just hitting record. Another thing that many big artists wouldn't give to a young engineer they just met. It meant a lot at the time and it means just as much to me now looking back.
honored to have been a part of this!
Songs for Film (2016–2026) is officially out now.
A collection of original songs written for film over the last decade, including 10 songs heard on screen, newly remastered, remixed, or reimagined specifically for this archival release.
Also included are 2 previously unreleased tracks, Somewhere I’m Dreaming (mixed by Noam Wallenberg) and Inked Sleeve, both recovered from the Vicious cutting room floor.
Bringing these songs together as one record has been an incredibly meaningful reflection on the last ten years. Some were written deep inside the worlds of the films they came from. Others quietly lived in the background until now.
A special thank you to my manager Allison Wright Clark, every filmmaker, musician, producer, collaborator, supporter, listener, friend, loved one, and especially my wife Georgia Makely-Schraeder, who helped make these songs possible and believed in me and the work over the last decade.
Available everywhere.
