Efficiency in playing the violin is very important! As much as possible, try to reduce unnecessary movements to focus on the intricacies the music demands.
Happy 90th birthday to the legendary maestro Zubin Mehta! It's been such a pleasure and honor working with him throughout the years- he is the epitome of elegance and nobility on the podium!
We’re thrilled to have him back again in our new @berlinphil 2026/27 season 💪🏼
My Warm-up routine 🏋🏻♂️ 🎻! If I have time, it includes open strings (to set up my bow-arm), Schradieck No. 1 or 2 (to warm-up my left hand), scales, double-stop scales (3rds, 6ths, 8ves, fingered 8ves and 10ths).
And then I love to play a movement of solo Bach! If I don’t have much time, I’ll just do a couple elements of this Warm-up routine. What are your favorite violin warm-ups? 🧐
What a pleasure to hear @maxim.vengerov perform at the Philharmonie, his glorious 🎻 sound filling the hall!
His recordings inspired me so much when I was young, and I remember vividly being blown away when I heard him live in recital in San Francisco when I was 11 (1997 I think!)
Happy 341st birthday JSB! 🎉 Here is his rarely performed cantata "Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis" with Albrecht Mayer! What are your favorite works by Bach?
