Do you recognize the images on these stickers? We’ve committed countless numbers of fictions to memory and we can recount their stories in detail. But do you recognize these birds? The great auk existed for over 100,000 years and had a population that once numbered in the millions, until humans hunted them to extinction in 1844. People knew that the auk was endangered as far back as the 16th century, but warnings and laws couldn't protect them from human greed.
Can we awaken to the warning signs of humanity's peril today? What will it take for our society to prioritize the crisis of climate change before it's too late for us too?
It's so easy to get caught up in day- to-day distractions and let the big picture slip away. That's why I’m driven to make work about the human impact on the environment. Ultimately it's an underlying factor to so much of the injustice that people are experiencing everywhere on Earth and it will be an increasing issue if we don't point a spotlight on it now.

Wow, my 2 weeks as the inaugural @artfieldssc festival artist-in-residence has flown by! I loved every minute of it.
Thanks to the dedicated time I was given I managed to complete my largest sticker art piece ever: a 5 x 10 ft. life-size recreation of the painting Heart of The Andes (which is at @metmuseum ). I'm now heading home for a few days and then I'm back in Lake City at the end of the month to celebrate the finale of the festival!

It's been an absolute honor to show there and I'm so grateful to the collectors who have purchased my work!
For this final piece of the series I decided to recreate a tape from my personal collection. I borrowed my sister's VHS camcorder and started filming my very own horror movie on this tape. I only got a few scenes done during the summer of 1994 before I got a full-time job offer from @tromateam and I moved from Richmond to NYC and never returned to finish it.

I was 7 when Alien came out, and I knew I wasn't gonna go see it in the movie theater because even the toy Xenomorph made by Kenner scared the bejebus out of me. So I had to make due with reading the Mad Magazine parody until I was brave enough to rent it on video in the 80s and discover what a masterpiece it truly is.
My process for this series involves painting the entire cover first, then adding stickers, then painting again! Zoom in and see what hidden messages you can spot.

My first 3 days as the inaugural festival artist-in-residence at @artfieldssc have been a most delightful whirlwind!
I'm making good progress on my largest sticker art to date (a 5 x 10 foot life size recreation of The Heart of The Andes by Frederic Edwin Church) and it's been amazing to watch Murmuration, my collaborative community mural, take form with the help of visitors of every age.
I'll be here working for the next couple weeks, so if you're in the area drop me a line and come say hi!

It was a real treat to actually be able to attend the opening and see folks enjoying these pieces in person.
John Carpenter's The Thing is one of my favorite movies of all time. So when I made the list of VHS boxes I'd reproduce this one was a no brainer.
Of course the cover gives no hint of what's contained within. What's fun about my process of working with stickers is the little hidden message I can sneak in. Zoom in and see what you spot.

The first VHS cassette I ever rented was The Terminator. I'll never forget my dad bringing home a large teal plastic box containing a rented VCR on which to play a movie at our house! It was truly mind blowing: both the technology and the movie itself. Of course who could've imagined how prophetic it all would be of the changes to come.
This body of work is a counterpoint to the anxiety-inducing nature of today’s endless streaming feeds, algorithmic content, and AI slop.
These hybrid collages of paint and children’s stickers emphasize the very human process of making imperfect things; a direct pushback against the hyper-perfection of our digital age.
