take it with however many grains of salt you wish, but this mix that is circulating around us, is not specifically too good - it’s suggested that you do stay away from it; of course, it’s your own trip, so, be my guest - but please be advised that there is a warning on this one, okay. 🥴 this 30-minute mix was a one-off i put together for the 15th episode of Terminal Radio, aptly titled “a monstrous psychedelic terminal exploding in your radio”, and was curated by longtime FSOL documentarian, friend and collaborator @imogenofa - this transmission was directly inspired by the @futuresoundoflondon ’s “amorphous androgynous” output, right around the time i was lucky enough to contribute an official remix for the ‘cartel: remixes’ LP for record store day 2014 - i can’t overstate what a big deal this was for me - i managed to cop the physical at @guestroomrecordslouisville bright and early - still to this day i can’t help but blurt out (if the conversation warrants it) that i appeared on an album with noel gallagher, to often confused reactions (he played guitar and bass on the record) - although i was in even better company already, as there were mixes from @strictlykev and @youthmartin of killing joke featured on the same piece of plastic - but i digress... i mentioned in a post a couple weeks back, this mix didn’t quite fit the bill for the ‘psychic surgery’ anthology that i put up digitally in 2013, so i didn’t include it there - until now, this was only available to listen to on mixcloud, and the full 2-hour transmission seems to have disappeared into the ether, as things do - nevertheless, here was my contribution, and there’s a solid chance i may be doing more mixes in this style in the near future, as i’ve been collecting tracks for such an occasion for the last decade. ✌️ 🌻: nmesh.bandcamp.com/album/everything-is-orange-nmesh

𝑺𝑯𝑨𝑹𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑶𝑼𝑹 𝑴𝑬𝑴𝑶𝑹𝑰𝑬𝑺. this short mix was put together end of march 2014, exclusive for amdiscs “Mix 4 AMDISCS” series, which ran up until 2017 - it was only available as a free download via their website - not a whole lot to this, other than i was asked to put together a set to coincide with the release of ‘Dream Sequins®’ (released a month prior), so i loosely tried to keep with the theme of the record - although, this ended up being more of an ambient / trip-hop affair than anything vaporwave or plunderphonic - i do remember @deandebenedictis (an ambient artist i’ve admired since my teen years, and 1/2 of the group Cathexis) being super stoked about their inclusion here at the time, which was nice - that track in particular “hymlock” should really be more notable as “proto-vaporwave” because it absolutely is, and is the reason i was occasionally mixing it into to similar tracks from sacred tapestry, or in this case infinite quazar. i’ve got one more very unique guest mix planned for next friday, which could have been included in my ‘Psychic Surgery’ collection of terminal radio transmissions, but didn’t quite fit the bill, for reasons that will be fairly obvious - at that point, if mixcloud ever goes down, these mixes will have a new home here on the nmesh bandcamp page and won’t disappear into the ether. happy bandcamp friday. 🛍️ 💤: nmesh.bandcamp.com/album/further-dreaming-nmesh

this guest mix was a big deal for me - i’d been privy to james parker’s experimental / electronic show on PBS FM (melbourne, AU) for a little over a year at the time, after coming across what i consider one of the definitive early vaporwave-focused radio specials in the early days of internet club / ferraro / lopatin / mediafired and numerous vektroid aliases (for historical purposes, i even uploaded that particular episode to youtube 12 years ago: youtube.com/watch?v=BEaOfc56KJ8) nevertheless, after a favorable review of ‘nu.wav hallucinations’ from tiny mix tapes, various tracks off that album started regularly popping up on the show, and it wasn’t long before i got in touch with james and organized 90-minute guest mix that aired on the 06/10/2014 show - i went all out on this one, and made sure i catered to the nature of the program - a blend of plunderphonics, techno, IDM, and the darker side of deep house music - and perhaps a little timely, a classic off boards of canada’s ‘old tunes vol. 2’ makes an appearance - until recently unearthing the files for this mix, i’d honestly forgotten how dense (and long) this mix was - it’s a solid transmission that i took very seriously at the time, and listening back on it for the first time in over a decade is a total trip. true to recent friday tradition, here’s a compilation of both my 08/18/13 and 06/22/14 transmissions for the EccoPlex© radio show, a collaborative effort between myself and Craig Gillman (AU) aka Loose Link (who kickstarted the FSOLboard’s “Terminal Radio” mix series back in 2012, and collaborated with me on ‘Dream Sequins®’) - this was the vaporwave offshoot of TR around the time the genre was making a splash, and a number of ambient-electronic artists’ interests were piqued and dipping our toes in the water (myself included) - EccoPlex© followed suit of Terminal Radio (6 artists per episode each contributing a 15-minute mix) - this particular series was short-lived (only two episodes), but were filled with a dozen contributions from a number of major players in the scene at the time, including topaz gang, luxury elite, 日本人 (japanese), bodyline, loose link, 회사AUTO, coinstarr, ESPRIT 空想, NYKDLN, ULTRA ウルトラ, GOLDEN LIVING ROOM, lost trail and linckoln - safe to say these transmissions were highly overlooked at the time, and are practically buried in time 13 years later - luckily the original mixcloud links are still up, and serve as a nice time capsule of the SPF / F500-era vaporwave scene - more links in the bandcamp description. 📻: nmesh.bandcamp.com/album/eccoplex-nmesh

i spent my 29th birthday chilling in @artxfm ’s downtown studio with allen white aka dj mythos, with an exclusive guest mix on hand for his show on Louisville’s own WXOX 97.1 - this was more of a genre-hopping mix, kicking off in the realms of IDM, D&B and vaporwave, before taking a hard detour into underground deep house in the latter half - basically an assemblage of what i was listening to at the time - also one of the only mixes to include one of my all-time favorite songs to this day (see if you can pick that out) - this was only ever uploaded to mixcloud, so here’s a refresher on bandcamp for those who might have overlooked it back in the day - more streaming links in the BC description. 🍊: nmesh.bandcamp.com/album/mythic-beat-nmesh
