It’s National Bike to Work Week and Bike Month, and our economic development team is representing! With more than 300 days of sunshine each year, growing investment in biking infrastructure and incredible terrain, New Mexico is a great place to ride.
Albuquerque continues to attract international interest as a hub for business growth and collaboration. Our team welcomed a delegation from Ghana to Albuquerque, coordinated through NMexus Center, to share ideas on economic development and partnership opportunities.
Today, our Food, Hunger and Agriculture Program welcomed partners from Michigan, Illinois and New Mexico for a multi-state peer learning exchange focused on local food purchasing systems, approved supplier strategies and strengthening regional food economies.
Over the next two days, participants will move beyond high-level discussions and into the operational realities of implementation — including interagency coordination, supplier program design, evaluation metrics and long-term sustainability.
We’re especially grateful to the New Mexico Farmers’ Marketing Association for helping convene this exchange and create space for shared learning among states navigating similar opportunities and challenges.
These conversations help advance practical solutions that support farmers, expand institutional market access and strengthen resilient regional food systems nationwide.

We’re launching a new series to spotlight the places helping ideas and businesses grow. First up: the Enterprise Center at San Juan College.
For more than 25 years, it has powered innovation in the Four Corner, supporting founders, small business owners, Tribal entrepreneurs, students, and makers as they turn ideas into real businesses.
Through incubation, mentorship, and hands-on support, the Center helps entrepreneurs move from concept to growth. With makerspace access and co-located partners offering advising, funding connections, and technical assistance, it’s built to move ideas forward.

On National Skilled Trades Day, we recognize the hardworking professionals who keep New Mexico building, growing, and moving forward. From construction and manufacturing to energy and infrastructure, skilled trades are essential to our state’s economic strength and future workforce.
Thank you to the tradespeople shaping New Mexico every day.
Food is life, and it’s economic development. The state is investing $1.6 million in 25 projects that expand access to fresh food and support communities that grow and process our food.
Through the Healthy Food Financing Fund, these investments back real solutions on the ground, from mobile grocery programs and rural markets to critical infrastructure for food producers. Pictured here is grantee Reunity Resources in Santa Fe, who will used the funding to expand their greenhouses so they can grow more food year-round.
