It's been a fun week observing local fashion in Korea. One of the biggest things I noticed over this trip was the use of colour in people's dressing. From the streets to the subway, in both cafes and shops, I kept seeing locals in clean, neutral tones instead of anything bold, bright or patterned. It's a simple, restrained colour palette that feels effortless, looks good and allows one to easily mix and match outfits.
I decided to build my travel wardrobe around four key colours—black, brown, blue and cream—and it served me well.

I've been following Malaysian tailoring brand @thecompendiumgarments for some time but only managed to meet the team at the Super Trunk Show in Singapore earlier this year. It was great to visit them in KL over the weekend and learn more about their philosophy and craft.
The brand currently offers a full range of MTM and bespoke tailoring in a house style that takes inspiration from both Eastern and Western traditions. They have also launched a few signature products such as the Jerald Car Jacket, Glenn Chore Jacket and Zane Pants (all named after friends!). I picked up the Guayabera shirt at the Singapore trunk show and it's been a great piece in the tropical heat.
The team has a permanent workshop / gallery space in KL for appointments and events and also travels to Singapore every few months with plans to expand their footprint.

2XU Compression Run 2026
First race of the year! Last year's edition of the @2xurun left a lot to be desired, not least due to its inaccurate distance, but the organisers made a genuine effort to improve the race experience this time round with excellent logistics and hydration support. My only issue was the poor lighting on parts of the course (if you're running this before the sun is up).
Started in fine form for a sub-1:35 finish (5k in 21:30; 10k in 44:00) but realised this was a bit too ambitious and struggled to hold the pace in the second half. A lesson once again to always start conservatively and only push later on. Grateful for the incredible @fastandfree.rc cheerzone—really helped me power through that final stretch. Truly the best out there!
It's been nine months since my last half marathon and all things considered, I'm pretty satisfied with this performance as a fitness marker. Just a bit of sharpening and better execution for next time. On the fueling front, the three-gel strategy served me well: one at the start line, one at the 6-7km mark and one caffeinated gel at the 14-15km mark.
Time for a well-deserved break and then onwards to the next race: the @goldcoastmarathon in July!
