Gisterenavond ging het in onze debatreeks De Arena over Gaza. Palestijnse ambassadeur in België H.E. Dr. Amal Jadou-Shakaa, politici Kathleen Depoorter (N-VA) & Els Van Hoof (cd&v) en professor internationaal recht Dimitri Van Den Meerssche gingen in gesprek over het VN-Genocideverdrag.
Wat kan en moet België doen om “een vermeende genocide te voorkomen dan wel te stoppen?” Doen we genoeg? Wat zijn de sancties? Fien Sabbe modereerde de avond.
Tijdens het debat werkte @m_a_n_o_e_u_v_r_e aan hun solidair borduurproject. Sinds oktober 2023 borduren ze de namen van de slachtoffers op een lang doek.

it’s been a while sinds you saw me. I’ve been so busy working and mom life that I’ve neglected Instagram a little bit to much.
for those who just started to follow me. I’m Nisran aka Ninja photographer. I got this nickname 10 years ago by @imranyusufcomedy during his stand up at @nuffsaidlive . Back in my early days, I wasn’t as subtle as now. And as I stood up from the crowd to take a picture, imran saw this and instantly said when did you fail ninja school. I felt a little embarrassed off course, but I took this by heart and it became my mission to pass ninja school. From that day on I became less and less obvious and people startend to call me ninja. Because they see me popping up in places without seeing me move. last year I had the chance to capture @imranyusufcomedy again. I can graciously say I’ve with the permission of Imran I’ve passed ninja school!

Last week was epic and was all about celebrating life!
I started the week celebrating 30 years of @axelle_red .
The next day we celebrated sisterhood with @barchapelantwerpen and @vanrielsanne ’s entrepreneurial journey.
On Thursday I celebrated motherhood with @hananchallouki ’s new book release ‘Imposter moeder’ a must read for everybody who wants to dig deep in a honest and funny journey of a new mom.
The first Fridays of the month are for @nuffsaidlive and last Friday we celebrated the last one of the season. But don’t be sad, there’s a big Feshta coming!
And my favourite part of last week was the civil wedding of my best friend @sara.belaich . The most beautiful bride I have ever seen. I was so blessed to celebrate this love story.

“Mevrouw, u heeft vorige jaar deze foto van mij gemaakt.”
Vorige week tijdens de iftar van Dahira Touba in de roma sprak een stralende man me aan. “Ik toon de foto aan iedereen, ik ben er zo trots op en ik wou u gewoon even komen bedanken”. Mijn verrassing en blijdschap was dan ook groot bij het horen van zo’n compliment.
Je weet nooit welke impact je werk op iemand kan hebben, hoe klein het ook mag lijken. Het werk dat we doen, ongeacht ons vakgebied of beroep, kan een sneeuwbaleffect creëren dat levens op manieren raakt die we misschien nooit hadden verwacht. De foto legde meer vast dan alleen een moment - het werd een gekoesterde herinnering voor de persoon op het beeld.
De betekenis van kleine daden vergeten we vaak. Of je nu fotograaf, copywriter of een andere creative professional bent, je werk kan inspireren, motiveren en echt een verschil maken.
