Cloud Building Tests
These are some experiments done by @moeen_say using @sidefxhoudini and Karma. Each one is done with a different approach and utilizes either Instancing of smaller cloud clusters to form larger ones, or simply a collection of massive, high voxel clouds. Renders took 2 minutes per frame or less, using the the Karma XPU pyro node. The earlier tests are less detailed (2nd, 3rd and 4th slide) and could have been improved by higher resolutions. The first slide is composed of scattered points which instance 600 separate 40 million voxel cloud clusters to achieve higher quality. Iterative noise using VOPS allows for faked advection, resulting in believable swirls and patterns.

Reaction Diffusion RnD
Low Quality experiments with custom reaction diffusion solving, volume convolution, and Karma XPU rendering by @moeen_say
If you're interested, the solver is fed two volumes to represent two chemicals. Each chemical is diffused over time using the Gray-Scott model of Reaction Diffusion. Volume convolution is used to determine the difference between the diffused chemicals and the unsolved chemicals.
The values from the second chemical are transferred to a grid. The pscale of the grid points is driven by the concentration of the chemical and converted to a VDB. The VDB is converted to geometry and put through to Solaris for rendering with Karma.
