This scene was lurking in the shadows of my dreams and I knew it was going to be very difficult to pull off. It was a challenge to even explain through words and pictures so I often had to physically demonstrate what I envisioned in person. We tried to incorporate as many practical elements as possible to root it in reality. It was a team effort of puppetry rigs, mannequins, wigs, etc led by our brilliant production designer @nucalifornia .The biggest warmest thank you to @tiltvfx for your incredible work on this scene and the project, your attention to detail and artistry truly blew me away! Designed by myself and my incredibly talented brother @stephenmcneelyartwork , photography by @zacharyness_cine . We wanted to take a slightly different route from the usual teaser rollout by building enigmatic movie style posters inspired by Japanese film posters and book covers from the 70’s–90’s.

I’m so thrilled that my projection mapping solo piece Morph will be exhibited at the top of every hour on 2 video billboards on Sunset boulevard through the city of West Hollywood’s Moving Image Media Art Program (MIMA) @wehoarts . October 1, 2025 - January 31, 2026 - MORPH by Nina McNeely is a playful and visually spellbinding performance by choreographer and animator Nina McNeely. Through the use of projection mapping and synchronized movements, she is transformed into a colorful array of creatures and characters. Inspired by the concept of shapeshifting in both folklore and contemporary culture, MORPH journeys through surrealist pop, a mythical animal kingdom, and into a divine realm of apparitions and deities. This piece narrows the line between dreams and reality while inviting the viewer to be transported back into a childlike state of innocence where color is omnipresent, time is nonlinear,and illusion is endless.   @blocla @underwonder #ninamcneely
