It’s always inspiring to see South Florida creators showing up ready to learn, share, and build community around what’s next. Last night’s session, AI, Immersive Storytelling & Real-Time Audience Interaction, featured two incredible South Florida-based guests: 🎧 Luiza Justus (@lujustus ) (@arvoreimmersive ARVORE Immersive Experiences) — who took us inside Fabula Rasa: Dead Man Talking, an award-winning interactive VR experience where audiences engage in live conversation with AI-driven characters, shaping the story in real time. 🌐 Oriana Neidecker (@orianan ) of @nilor.studio studio — who shared a producer’s perspective on how immersive works evolve from concept to installation and touring, and how AI + spatial storytelling + performance can be integrated to strengthen emotional connection and collective participation. Borrowing tools, techniques, and aesthetics from advertising, video, and new media art, Sugar, Sugar weaponizes AI to expose histories of extraction. Using custom-built workflows designed to reclaim technologies from corporate monopolies, nilor collages archival documentation of sugar's violent past—plantation slavery, land theft, industrial brutality—with AI-generated media that refuses to let us bury the truth. The three works operate in parallel: sugar's centuries of commodifying bodies for profit mirror Big Tech's extraction of data and labor disguised as innovation. In Cupcake, a cupcake takes an eternity to collapse into rot, and reveal the blood-soaked production beneath its gloss. This isn't art about AI, or a glorified tech demo, its resistance built with reclaimed tools, countering extractive capitalism by seizing the means of production, and showing how we can use these tools in artistic ways to combat the force-feeding of dopamine slop. nilor suggests that we can still use these tools to create critical commentaries and hopeful alternatives to the blind faith of the technophile and the stalwart resistance of the opt-out technophobe. The inspiration for our NILOR PARTY video is close to home, literally. Modeling the room as an almost 1:1 of @nilsjohannesson ‘s attic room and remaking the visuals setup we had for real at the Nilor Party event earlier this year. The videos show a chronological timeline of how the project was made. Using @comfyui to generate weird versions of everyday objects and turning them into 3D models with the first version of #hunyuan3d . Staying in the spirit of GAN TOWN by utlizing the latest generative ai models as a tool within the pipeline and experimenting with how it can shape the video. @nilor.studio are teaming up with @carnegiemellon to deliver a practical introduction to generative AI. @nilor.studio have been exhibited internationally from Japan to the UK, and from the UAE to the USA, as well as building the agentic brains behind numerous world class permanent installations in restaurants, venues and museums. Now they bring the dark art of Slop Whispering to one of America’s most prestigious universities, to help students understand how to put the actual artistry back into AI art, and figure out how to (mis)use this power to shape tomorrow.

NILOR PARTY (the spiritual successor to our piece GAN TOWN) follows two geezas trying to steal nilor’s secrets. They break in to the nilor squat and dig through the chaos to understand the tech behind the Nilor Party we ran in London in Feb 2025. They find a few hidden gems including the entire projection setup from the party, the “Bunny Railing Ket” minigame, the actual visuals from the event, and a special guest appearance from everyone’s favourite cursed sack: Bavis. Using Unreal Engine, and the latest in custom AI image and 3D workflows we made this short in less than 2 weeks. Nilor is always pushing boundaries.
