A few months ago I was approached by the Gmünder Kuntsverein curator, @stanislausmh , to take part in their Hoffen und Furcht exhibition, at Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany. Gaza has the highest number of child amputees per capita as a result of the Israeli genocide.

"My home was here. My life was here. But life ended when the occupation destroyed everything I once had in this place. The place is desolate, utterly desolate. Life was once here. Children once played here. People once lived here. Yes, life was here. But now life has ended. Where are the houses? Where are the children? Where are the people who lived in this place? It is a desolate place. It is a dark place. Nothing remains here but the ruins we weep over. We weep over them."
Hossam al-Masri was assassinated by Israel on Monday 24 August 2025 in a targeted attack at al Nasser hospital.
