cement angel wings, stainless steel sheets x2, experimental film x2 projected onto sheets
Drawing inspiration from Valie Export’s Body Configurations, which forced the body into new relationships with physical space, Naturally Synthetic pushes the body into digital and conceptual terrains. Within these works, the body twists, contorts, and stretches itself thin, a reflection of how technology is mutating instincts, spatial awareness, and self-perception from the inside out. Screens, codes, and machines infiltrate not just the external world, but internal systems of thought and being.
Naturally Synthetic does not seek to restore anything. It embraces the chaos of mutation, pushing toward new forms of being where definitions of “natural” and “artificial” collapse. Through collaboration with technology, not resistance, a new body emerges: unstable, elastic, half-remembered, and persistently alive.
Naturally Synthetic is where the human body stops being a container for the self and becomes an extension of everything it touches.
The body isn’t sacred here\
It’s a site of collapse and re-creation.
there are not enough words to express my gratitude towards every patient, hardworking, observant, and chaotic individual that contributed to my thesis, 1 year and 6 months of sharing my brain and being supported and challenged by the most incredible team
