Three heads tall, one tooth. I use Mitsubishi pencils and Sakura watercolors with a water brush pen. Easy to use, quick to dry.

Born on a bullet train somewhere outside of Osaka.
He leapt off the tray table and jumped out the window.
I thought he might be gone for good…
But he started showing up on sketchbooks, loose pages, iPads.
Each time uninvited. And each time feeling a little more real. At some point, he stopped feeling like a drawing. More like a roommate that won’t leave.
Some characters get made. This one just moved in.

On laptops, sketchbooks, phone cases, surfboards, and mini fridges. Whatever would hold still long enough.
We’ve been handing these out for years. At studios, on sets, at conferences, in coffee shops, across state lines. No campaign. No strategy. Just a little creature with a habit of getting around.
That’s always been the Snaggletooth way: crash the party, stick around, make friends.

Sketchbook dump!
Between shooting on my little Fujifilm X100T and sketching, this trip reminded me how good it feels to slow down and actually look at things. At the moment I'm really into quick pencil gesture drawing. It's so liberating to get the idea down super fast and keep moving!
Also, those pen and ink sketches at the end are doodles from the plane ride home during our 9+ hr Lord of The Rings marathon 🌿🏡🍻🧺🧙♂️⚔️🗡️💍🔥

Just back from an incredible trip to Spain to kick off my 40th birthday month. Sam and I saw my favorite band, @radiohead , in Madrid, explored both Madrid and Valencia, ate amazing food, soaked in the art and architecture, and met some wonderful people along the way.
