Nick Ward epitomises what it means to be a Great Britain Baseball player - fearless in competition, selfless on and off the diamond, and relentless in his pursuit of gold. He co-Captained the 2025 European Championship team, won a silver medal at the 2023 Euros, and was a member of both World Baseball Classic teams, along with the 2022 Qualifier. Across five competitions and 21 games in a GB uniform, Nick bat .302 with five home runs, 19 runs batted in, five doubles, and 23 runs scored. Well, this is it. My playing days may have come to an end, but I have so many things to be thankful for. Its impossible to fit everyone into one post, but to my family, teammates, coaches, mentors, and everyone else; I can’t thank you all enough for being a part of my journey. But most importantly, thank you all for everything you’ve taught me along the way. It was one hell of a ride. Here’s to new beginnings!

No man since Ward joined the league in 2022 has more hits, homers, runs or a better average.
He led the ABL in hits in 2025-26 en route to a third Claxton Shield.

With the end of the championship series in Sydney, Nick Ward finishes his career in the ABL with a third Claxton Shield for the @adelaidegiants .
Over his @australianbaseballleague career @nickward32 played 170 games for the Giants with a career average of .322 placing him third in modern day ABL history. Nick played a pivotal role for the Giants within the infield, helping them break a 43-year championship drought and provided a great personality within the clubhouse. This season Nick also transitioned into an off-field player-coach role, helping mentor the new and younger hitters with their approaches to the plate. Over his stay in Australia, Wardy became a fan favourite of many who loved watching him play at West Beach.
