#Sunset on a silt-laden #Thames ... a huge scaly monster ... a watery cosmos ... "a strong brown god" (Eliot) ... sinking, sensuous, and maybe, sentient. I was thinking too of Roni Horn's excellent book, /audio/playlist/247/3178
Images with people are not a big focus for me, but ... 1. #Homeless on the #Southbank ... with guardian. 2. #Mudlarking on the #Thames foreshore at Blackfriars bridge. 3. This is an actual portrait made with consultation @coffeebuilder 4. #Barbican. 5. West End galleries increasingly employ security staff. I can't see them as other to the exhibitions. I was really trying to photograph the plant in the window". 9. Waiting for a train at #WaterlooStation.
Some recent London shots ... 1. #Eagle in residence at the #BritishLibrary. 2. Near the #BFI. 3. Tool shops are better than #galleries, mostly. 4 & 5. "C'mon dad" says daughter in the #toolshop. 6. Photo studio, #WestEnd. 7. #City #reflection #abstract. 8. #CanadaWater ... water. 9. Complex reflection. 10. When you think you are #photographing one thing but then realise you are photographing another.
"Between the idea/And the reality/Between the motion/And the act/Falls the Shadow", T.S. Eliot. #BromptonCemetery: Spent the afternoon at one of London's great cemeteries. The sun was strong and, rather than fight to exclude my shadow, I decided to focus on it. Risky. "Never tempt the gods!" I love the "ABSENT FROM THE BODY" text on the second image. The daffs are a feeble attempt to lighten up at the end...
"63 to Honor Oak". A slightly #psychedelic bus journey through #London #SE1. "You're either on the bus or off the #bus", Ken Kesey. (Needs headphones for layered audio edit).
About the only thing these images have in common is their square format, though, of course, it's easy to make links. 1, A #sunlit thicket. Expand the image. #Nature is #abstract. 2. #Silverbirch and #attic #window. 3. Outside the #NationalTheatre, #London. 4 and 5.Poster sites in an #underground station. 6. From an ongoing series featuring #malevolent spider plants 😊 7. Old #door, #Fulham. 8. At #Chelsea and #Westminster #Hospital. "Where do we put the vending machine?" ... "Fuck it, that'll do".
Another clip, a companion to /p/DNd6l2fucD7/ ... and an addition to a growing collection of #headless #bodies, #wandering aimlessly while their 'owners' are otherwise engaged, for some 30 minutes in this case, on their #phone. All shot from my #bedroom #window here in SE1, #London. (My organ soundtrack)
