‘Triumph and Glory’ is included in Lover’s Concerto opening tonight at La Loma, 6-8pm. La Loma Projects is pleased to announce a group exhibition Lover’s Concerto with four contemporary artist couples in Los Angeles including Kate Pincus-Whitney, Merrick Adams, Nabilah Nordin, Nick Modrzewski, Jude Pauli, David Korty, Yoora Lee and Jungwoo Lee. Thanks to Mikala Tai for including us in her recent article for Art + Australia, ‘Learning to be Comfortable with Discomfort’, about Australian artists working overseas, alongside Abdul Abdullah, Gregory Hodge and Clare Thackway. Goodbye LA 💌 Thank you for two life-changing / unforgettable / challenging / freeway-based years. You contain great mysteries behind your many masks. Your truly shambolic layout, the bits of car you leave on the road, the rocks thrown from a bridge, you are delightfully ungovernable. Even in dense traffic, your impossibly orange sky peeks through the overpasses and stretches all the way to the mountains. Despite your pretend castles in the hills, you are not a postcard city. When people visit they have no idea what to do with you. But that is your charm. You force us to do our own poetic work imagining what you can be. Thank you for opening our eyes to a new world and for introducing us to so many special friends. And thank you to everyone who has helped us during this chapter, from words of guidance and inspiration to late night studio meals and future dreaming.
