AFFECTION Day is almost here!
This one has been quite a journey, and I’m so excited to finally be getting it out there - in cinemas, no less!
Affection is a sci-fi / horror film and the debut feature from writer/director
@theworknprogress , someone I’ve known for many years. I always knew he would over-deliver if given the opportunity.
We filmed in Upstate New York, which afforded us the chance to shoot in an incredible location, but also came with a lot of logistical and personal challenges for everyone involved. So it was a summer of bears, bees, deer, rain, cornfields, blood, and goo. Also, like the film, there was no phone service, and it felt very isolating. I had actually just gotten married a few weeks before I left to go prep and film this one (thankfully I have the world’s best wife

I’m one of those believers that every film is a huge achievement and a miracle, and the most glorious of collaborations - and we truly had incredible collaborators.
Needless to say, I’m very, very proud of the final result.
It’s a film about loss, grief, obsession, and control - but also about survival, perseverance, and hope.
And we open in cinemas this Friday, May 8th!
The goal was always to have audiences see this on the big screen. We had a fantastic festival run, which just ended at the Overlook Film Festival in New Orleans last month, and now it will be out in the world through our partners at
