This weekend I participated in the Cinco de Meadow Tournament at Hidden Meadows in St. Francisville, LA. My play has been sloppy lately, but this is a course that I enjoy traveling to and playing. The crew with BDRAG always does a great job and the course looked great considering the storm that came through the previous few days. Thanks to BRDGA for running a smooth tournament. The towel was helpful considering the conditions; lunch being provided is always a win!. Round 1 did not really feel like a strong performance but it rated well and I found myself on lead card. The second round did not forgive the mistakes I had been making and I dropped off a bit. Despite the poor performance, I cashed at a B Tier and enjoyed the opportunity to compete. Thanks to my sponsors, @rpm_discs_nz for the Kotuku, Kahu, and Kiwi which got me off the tee as well as @doomsdaydiscs for the Frag to scramble and the rot to finish each hole well! Thanks to JL for the sick pictures. It's such a great gesture to have pictures to take away from the tournaments! Huge shout out to @discgolf_james who not only prepped the course, but also painted the ob lines the morning of, and played the tournament. It's always a great time getting to play on the card with James. The next tournament on the schedule is the 6th Annual Pelican Park Doubles that Scot and I have win the past 2 years. Hoping to 3peat this weekend.

This weekend, I got to play the Area 601 Open presented by Play it Again Sports Hattiesburg. This was the first competitive disc golf I have played since helping to run 2 massive tournaments in the month of March. I needed to shake off the rust. Lake Sehoy is a great property for disc golf and has some holes that require big distance shots. I decided the night before to add some faster discs to my bag in hopes of connecting on the distance track. The most memorable hole of the tournament for me was hole 13. First round, from the gold layout, having the box, I stepped up to a 523 foot par 3. My kahu flipped up and went long of the basket giving me a birdie putt that I connected on. Round 2, from the slightly shorter blue layout, at 446 ft, I threw an eagle and went way long. Despite the 60 ft, bling putt, I connected in the birdie again. Having to tweak my technique is giving me some issues but I am feeling like I am throwing farther than I have in the past. Thanks to my sponsors, @rpm_discs_nz , @doomsdaydiscs , and @starframebags for the support. My Rpm drivers were cutting through the wind and helping me get through the 10,000 ft course; my Doomsday rots were both the throwing putter of choice and finishing putts; the Star Fram Bandido bag let me keep extra water discs and store some extra water in the cooler pouch.

I have taken a few days to reflect and take everything in after the 2026 MVP @bigeasyopen presented by Flight Factory. I have been warned about the challenges of hosting a @discgolfprotour event and knew it would be a ton of work. The biggest takeaway I have from this event is the overwhelming amount of support the NODGC and the disc golf communities have given. This event is not possible without the support of the volunteers, park staff, parish council, spectators, and so much more. People have thanked me and given me some praise and my response has been the same each time: I did very little in the grand scheme of all this. There are so many people who took off work, landscaped, prepped the course, organized operations, and helped this tournament run so well. The DGPT staff was a pleasure to work with. The team they have gave us the blueprints we needed and we implemented the action plans needed to be successful. The park staff is top notch. @john_houck_houckdesign had the tall task of executing a 5 year plan in about 9 months. Without the park staff and John Braswell, none of this is even close to possible. I have pictures and videos form 2 months ago when there wasn't even grass in the fairways. The parks department at @jeffparishgov is as good as it gets. @jennvanvjp and @timothykerner showed up and made investments to support the weeklong prepping for the 1st ever BEO. They have been nothing short of supportive and willing to make it work. I am so proud to have been a part of Louisiana's first DGPT event. I am so proud to have the opportunity to represent the community that made this all possible. It was hard not be a fan of the players who were so overwhelmingly happy to be here. Thanks to all those who have come before me at the NODGC who have shaped the club into what it has become. Thanks to the volunteers who filled 300+ shifts. Thanks to the thousands of spectators that came to watch the best disc golfer in the world compete. Thanks to the DGPT for working with us to get this thing going. Thanks to all the friends and family for the support. Looking forward to the next one, which is this weekend at the Pot of Gold.

This past weekend, I took on the challenge of playing two tournaments. Saturday, I played the Flanacher Open and Sunday was the Port City Open. For the Flanacher Open, I played the course blind. I made some bad mistakes in the first round but leaned up the second round enough to take last cash. Port City was a different story. My comfortable shots were feeling great. The wind picked up and once I left my comfort zone, I struggled to make good decisions. 4 tournament rounds in a weekend was a physical challenge especially with 500 miles of driving to do it. Both tournaments were enjoyable and I always enjoy the competition side of things, even while playing below my expectations. My card mates at both events, some longtime friends and some fresh faces, were great and made it fun. My @rpm_discs_nz Glow Kotuku was the only thing helping me stay in the hunt through the windy conditions in Shreveport. My @doomsdaydiscs Rot and Frag were getting me close enough to stay confident. Thanks to my latest sponsor, @starframebags , I packed discs for 2 very different courses without needing to change my lineup. I had plenty of space, maybe too much, in my bag for sunscreen, drinks, discs, and a portable charger to keep my phone going through the 3.5 hour rounds.

This weekend, I made the drive to Baton Rouge to play in the BRDGA bag tag mixer. For the first mixer each year, tags are issued based on finish. For the second year in a row, I made the trip up and left with a victory. I love what Baton Rouge is doing for the community up there and hope the growth continues. It’s always fun to play with the old heads who helped me learn to love disc golf. Thanks to @rpm_discs_nz and the kotuku, Kotare, and Kahu OS. It was windy and I was able to get my drive into scoring positions. One of my hyzers even spiked through a tree. Thanks to @doomsdaydiscs for the Frag and Crisis to approach in the wind and to the Rot for letting me finish each hole. For the BR folks, your 1 tag will be back up in the mix soon enough. #tombstoned #brdga #nodgc #louisianadiscgolf

This past weekend I played in the 2026 Bogie Chitto Challenge. I have been in a slump lately and can only explain it with the administrative challenges I have been dealing with. Between a course being redesigned, working to bring a DGPT event into the area, and facilitating more large scale disc golf events in the New Orleans Disc Golf Club, I haven’t been practicing or aiming to get better. My performance at the 2026 BCC reflects just that. I missed putts, played outside my game, and just felt off. I finished above the cash line, but I felt miserable in the process. 2026 will bring new challenges and I look forward to facing them. I am happy to represent @rpm_discs_nz and @doomsdaydiscs for the season. Among all the issues I have with my game right now, my plastic is not one of them. I don’t think I have been more confident in my bag or available shot choices. My kotukus were giving me all the shots in the woods and my Rots were helping me finish holes. #itsinournature #godownthrowing

2025 Solomon Center Open presented by Infinite Discs Thanks to everyone who helped to support the tournament. I can reflect on the weekend in 2 ways: as a player and as the TD. As the TD, I hope the weekend was filled with fun competition and everyone enjoyed their stay. I think there are some things we can improve on but I think that this event went on without a ton of hiccups. Congrats to @sw.innova on the win! That dude shot lights on round 3 to take it home. Thanks to @lagniappediscgolf for helping to run the tournament. As a player, this weekend showed me that I need to be better for myself. I don’t practice and that leads to inconsistent play. I play a round nearly every day and it has led to injuries. My finger on my throwing has had a callous that has been “healing” and damaged again and again. I let my finger serve as an excuse to change shots because it hurt and I was afraid to damage it further. After starting the yer with 11 straight top 10 performances, I have managed to fall out the top 10 and shoot below my rating in back to back events. The only way to fix my game is to take some time off and let my physical and mental heal. I don’t know how long i will need but I don’t expect to be throwing a disc for a while. Better luck next time. Thanks to my sponsors, @rpm_discs_nz , @doomsdaydiscs for their support. I was throwing my kotukus and rots all over the course. Thanks to @ds_disc_dyes for making all my discs look better than I did while I was throwing.

Ace number 26 today! Today at 3 disc Thursday, I got ace number 26 on hole 2 at City Park New Orleans. I decided to grab a couple random discs to play with and used some that I have never played with. My bag consisted of an MVP watt, a Discraft Zombee, and an Innova Colossus. The ace came with the zombee. I am hoping to keep the momentum going through the weekend and that I can put together a clean tournament for the first time in a while.

I went out to the park today for a quick evening round and ran into some buddies at the course. We played the PDGA league layout for tomorrow’s round. Along the way, I picked up ace number 25 on hole 11 at City Park. The gold basket is placed 275 ft off the tee through an archway of oak trees. I threw my favorite disc from @rpm_discs_nz . The Kotuku was the first disc I tried from RPM and this was the first ever disc I have owned from them. I actually wanted this specific disc, a mid range that glides and fades without turning over, for this hole. I wanted to throw a low line drive that faded as it approached the basket. Once I let go, I felt like it had a chance and it smashed the chains. Thanks to RPM for making the best mid range I have ever thrown. #itsinournature
