Sooooo once again Women’s History Month is about to be… history. (Never fear: we’re here all year.)
Hey wait—know what you might wanna do in the 5 remaining days?? Listen to Feminist Files, NG affiliated artist Leigh Fondakowski’s genuinely edge-of-seat podcast about passing Title IX! It stars Jodie Foster! It sets the law’s 39 words to SONG! Which you will never get out of your head! But you won’t want to! Wherever you get your podcasts, as they say. LISTEN!
Welcome Bailey and Thalia! When there came an opportunity to add new part-time positions to our small staff, we invited affiliated artists to apply. Why not keep it in the family! Hurrah, two cherished artists fit the bill: Bailey Williams, who you may recognize from Two Sisters, is our new Stewardship Associate/Producer; Thalia Sablon, brand-new Audrey Resident and a co-facilitator of The Jam, is our Community Associate/Producer.
Check out their bios in the comments! 🎯
Jaynie here… shouting out @ih8minna and @justkedian and their 2025 Audrey Residency project: LAST GOLD, a play about figure skating, sports capitalism, and the rivalry between love and success, set at the Winter Olympic Games—and brought to you by Beef Bowls™️.
It was an utter delight to walk into the Room this fall and see not only a new Polyglide ice rink and a whole lot of inflatable penguins, but also the incredible group of artists they had assembled for their residency time to explore this physical, human, hilarious play. 🥇⛸️💫
I sat in the corner beaming. For a former competitive skater who had dedicated the past 25+ years to producing new plays... it was a bit of an out-of-body experience. I was at the center of the Venn diagram. I levitated.
Then I got to teach them how to do an axel.
TY Minna Lee, Frankie Placidi, Amando Hauser, Kedian Keohan, Maria-Christina Oliveras, Utkarsh Rajawat, clew, Haley Wong, and b and allllllll the 🐧🐧🐧🐧
Kallan was the host of the final meeting of the 2025 New Georges Audrey Residents. She had us over to her nifty apartment. Her residency project: convene a book club that reads Virginia Woolf; write a play about it. Hence her meeting plan: we all read out loud from TO THE LIGHTHOUSE, discuss for a bit, then take home a book of our choosing (not just ANY book, a book from a stack of her faves!). A delicious way to extend our evening together, and our year. 🧡😎🧠🌼
Top-notch cohort, top-notch hang! Spending 2025 with these 12 and helping them all make cool stuff? You guessed it: top notch. 🎩
💥2025 Audrey residents: Kallan Dana, Jeana Scotti + Tara Elliott, Arika Larson, Normandy Sherwood + Nikki Calonge, Deneen Reynolds-Knott + Arminda Thomas, Jeanne Dorsey, Erin Courtney, Minna Lee + Kedian Keohan
