Perspectives of the past, visions beyond the present. A journey within footwear.
Disassembleable shoe made from a single folded rectangular piece of fabric and a modular, interlocking 3D-printed sole and connecting elements.
By using accessible manufacturing technologies like 3D printing and the efficient use of fabric, the simplicity, material reduction and modularity of the espadrille are reinterpreted to create a construction system of removable and interchangeable parts. This minimises material waste and increases reparability, extending the product‘s lifespan. The manufacturing techniques and construction logic of espadrilles are a legacy that serve as a reference point for more efficient, sustainable, versatile, and economical contemporary footwear concepts.

Resonating Fabrics - Eine textile Untersuchung von Resonanz
The project explores textile as a medium of resonance positioned between industrialization and craft. It draws on recorded sounds of industrial weaving machines from the textile works in Bocholt, whose rhythmic structures are translated into handwoven processes. The resulting textile panels make temporality, repetition, and deviation visible, pointing to the differing logics of industrial production and manual practice.
Video and book form an independent engagement with the process of translation: the video renders movement and sound perceptible, while the book functions as a standalone object that unfolds textile rhythms through sequential viewing. Through the interaction of these elements, textile becomes perceptible as a carrier of rhythm.

Nostalgie - eine gestalterische Auseinandersetzung zwischen Erinnerung, Emotion und Handwerk
“Ochi” is a floor cushion that was created from an exploration of nostalgia and crochet craftsmanship. Its shape is derived from the abstract chain stitch, translating its soft, flowing structure into a contemporary object. The gentle segmentation and organic silhouette invite different, casual sitting positions and promote a relaxed, informal posture.
The canvas fabric ensures dimensional stability and durability without compromising softness. Its understated, matte texture supports the clear design approach and emphasizes the calm aura of the object. The cover and filling can be separated from each other, allowing the cushion to be cared for over the long term and used flexibly. This makes “Ochi” a place to pause, a restrained piece of furniture that allows familiarity to be experienced through form and use.

Knoten. Eine Auseinandersetzung in Theorie, Experiment und Gestaltung
This work deals with the knot as a cultural-historical, technical and design phenomenon. The multidisciplinary methodology of the work makes it possible to view the knot not only as a technical aid, but also as a universal structural model that combines functional, symbolic and social dimensions. The combination of theory, experimentation and design creates a transdisciplinary approach that allows the knot to be experienced as a principle on various levels. The result is a modular jewellery collection in which all individual pieces are compatible with each other, and wall hooks with
interchangeable hangers, each inspired by the functional and formal principle of the cross knot.

from awarness to application
From awareness to application – conscious design in print & product combines a magazine and a furniture project that
complement each other and allow the design process to be experienced from two perspectives. The focus is on the
question of how conscious decisions in design can be made and communicated. The magazine reveals the creative
background and expands on it with guided interviews and specially written texts that bring together different perspectives on responsible design. Photography, typography, and language create a reflective narrative level. To complement this, HORST was created, a versatile piece of small furniture made of solid wood that can be used as a stool, shelf, or stacking object. Open and closed sides vary the visibility and access to storage space, while several elements can be flexibly combined. Together, print and product design show design as a process of reflection and application—from conscious perception to concrete implementation.

Provozierte Spuren – Prozesse perfekter Imperfektion
This thesis examines the aesthetic significance of imperfection and traces within the tension between perfection and imperfection. Drawing on theoretical perspectives on beauty, wabi-sabi, and the reading of traces, imperfection is understood not as a deficiency but as a form-giving potential. In the practical part, traces are photographically documented, analyzed, experimentally explored, and ultimately translated into a piece of furniture. The resulting „Traces Sideboard“ combines industrial precision with temporal transformation through patina, presenting beauty as a processual and open-ended condition.
