Thugshop X Unmute presents: Never Tooo Loud with Olivia Mendez at Headquarters on 27 June. We are closing out the month of June by inviting, Berlin-based Olivia Mendez to our shores. Vinyl-only and Rhythm-obsessed, Olivia Mendez crafts deep, minimal techno that hits hard and moves deeper. DJ, selector, and sonic storyteller, Olivia doesn’t just play records—she builds rituals. Every set is a slow-burn narrative, where emotion simmers and basslines bite. 
Raised on percussion and movement, her foundation is shaped in the shadows of London’s underground (2006–2011). From sweat-soaked Brooklyn basements to smoky Kiev raves, she’s queered dancefloors with sound that’s bold, body-first, and uncompromising. Founder of KONVENT—a FLINTA collective hacking feminist discourse through sound—and her label Dust in Grooves, she’s carving out spaces where the underground resists, reclaims, and roars. With Chami, she also helms DIG Curated, a platform fusing subversive audio, visual art, and radical community work. Now transmitting from Berlin—Olivia’s here to bend genres, break binaries, and shake systems. One beat at a time. Supporting her that night we have some new and familiar faces to complete the lineup. Thugshop X Unmute presents: Never Tooo Loud with Anabel Arroyo (SP), on 30 May at Headquarters. We are closing May by inviting supremely talented Fold London resident Anabel Arroyo for her debut gig in Singapore. Anabel Arroyo is fast becoming an in-demand name in dance music, holding a residency at FOLD London and Laster Madrid, and a reputation for intense, groovy sets that whip crowds into frenzies. After honing her skills in Seville she moved to Madrid where she quickly made a name for herself, playing many parties alongside some of the biggest names in techno, whilst developing her trademark energetic style. Since arriving in London four years ago she has advanced it even further, with her own positive, relentless energy infecting crowds before the music even hits their ears. Anabel’s movements reflect her music, with her playful, bouncy sets leaving crowds across the UK and Europe clinging onto every beat, whilst she takes note of all the emotions in front of her, enjoying every second. Two years into her residency at FOLD, Anabel’s sets are infamous for their sophisticated transitions and catchy, groove-infused sound that lingers in the minds of crowds long after the music has stopped. This sound is also heard in her productions, that have been released on vinyl and digital on LABURNŪM Records, Emphatic Rec and Fluctuat Records. DJ, producer, and Grey Report label head Adriana Lopez is bringing her driving, trippy future-focused techno to our cage this month. With over 20 years in the industry, she has made appearances at Berghain and Tresor (Berlin), Fabric (London), Concrete and Rex (Paris), Basement (New York), Vent (Tokyo), Awakenings Festival, Stone Techno Festival, DGTL Festival (Barcelona), and many more. "Bogotá-born, Barcelona-based techno purist and skill icon, Adriana Lopez, has been a scene-wide inspiration for over two decades now and creates an exceptional, atmospheric momentum with every performance..." - Stone Techno Festival. Known for her raw, hypnotic and driving techno, Adriana has released on labels known to nurture this sound, such as Spanish labels PoleGroup and Semantica, as well as Stroboscopic Artefacts, Modularz, Mord, and her label, Grey Report. That fast and rhythmic signature style has been blared out at packed-out dark rooms of New York’s Nowadays, Berlin’s Berghain and Helsinki’s Post Bar, as well as the festival grounds of Stone Techno, AWAKENINGS and Wire. MARRØN is also the co-founder and resident of Eerste Communie, an event series based in Amsterdam. And yes, it’s all happening on a weekday via a joint effort with Unmute @unmute.asia GiGi made a name for herself back in South London’s scene in 2018, playing at multiple Make Me parties, Boiler Room events, and a heap of DIY venues across the capital. She also hosts a monthly show on NTS Radio, exploring “inter-dimensional techno and rhythm transmissions” from all over. As for Altinbas, he’s a significant presence within the Belgian scene – holding a residency at Fuse, while concurrently acting as the club’s record label co-curator. With Fuse’s position as the country’s longest-running club dedicated to techno, there simply isn’t any room for doubt when it comes to Altinbas’ taste and curation. Last month, the duo played a special b2b set during Fuse’s stage takeover at Stone Techno, weaving through different flavours and strains of high-tempo selections as dancers surrendered their minds for 3 hours of bliss and blitz. Beyond their escapades at festivals and the dancefloors of clubs around the world, they’re prolific producers too. Can you remember the last time you went hard on a Wednesday? Notably, the Berlin based artist has held the famed residency for more than a decade, a sign of doing things right. Beyond Berlin though, Mareena has also played at the likes of De School, KALT Club, Faust Seoul, as well as festivals such as Movement and UNDER. As a producer, she slows down the BPM – trading the flurry of Techno for an ambient, downtempo approach. She’s released luscious soundscapes on Editions, Tresor, and her very own Berlin-based record label Unrush. Besides releases, Unrush also puts out mixes that take “a step away from the pounding hedonism of the club to showcase the other side of electronic music”. Come the 27th, Mareena will make her debut at Headquarters, bringing along with her the flavours of Berlin and Tresor onto our dancefloor.
