oranges, linocut print on archival paper, 2025 this print is inspired by Wendy Cope’s “The Orange”(copied below) and is a tribute to my dear friends & the little things in life <3 ~~ At lunchtime I bought a huge orange —
The size of it made us all laugh.
I peeled it and shared it with Robert and Dave —
They got quarters and I had a half. And that orange, it made me so happy,
As ordinary things often do
Just lately. The shopping. A walk in the park.
This is peace and contentment. It’s new. The rest of the day was quite easy.
I did all the jobs on my list
And enjoyed them and had some time over.
I love you. I’m glad I exist. — Wendy Cope

柿子 persimmons, linocut print on archival paper, 2025 persimmons have been symbols of luck and longevity in chinese culture for over two thousand years and is said to help grant wishes. this print represents my hopes for a better world and is an ode to my many fond memories of eating persimmons at my 婆婆’s house. this year, in addition to eating them as is, I’ve been putting puréed persimmons in my matcha lattes and buying them dried from the farmers market. would highly recommend both!

I started this print more than a year ago, when the campaign to turn the great highway into a permanent park was in full swing. I’m so happy to finally complete it with the park’s official name: sunset dunes. as someone who is deathly afraid of biking next to car traffic, sunset dunes is an amazing alternative. if you’re a skeptic, I highly recommend checking it out :)

september is transit month! which feels like the perfect time to post this jigsaw print i made for @queerancestorsproject an excerpt from my artist statement: “Taking transit is convenient and fun, but it is also often the only option for working-class people, seniors, youth, and people with disabilities to access employment opportunities and their social networks. With SFMTA facing a $322 million annual deficit beginning in 2026, it’s more important than ever to show support for public transit. My hope for this print is that it will encourage people to rep their favorite bus lines, showing decision-makers that Muni is an essential part of what makes San Francisco San Francisco.” stay up-to-date on the fight to save bay area transit: @sftru @seamlessbayarea @transbay.coalition

Fiona J Yim 嚴靜彤, Queer As Fuck, linocut The inspiration for this print came about when I learned about the Tr*mp administration’s erasure of queer and HIV resources from all federal government websites. To me, this move is a scary acceleration of the far-right’s attempts to delegitimize queer and trans existence and push people into hiding. I think it’s more important than ever for queer and trans stories to be visible and shared. This print is a call to action for those who can to be loud and proud about being queer and trans. The two flowers featured in the print are pansies and lavender. Both have been used as queer symbols since the 1920s. @neverfinley

Fiona J Yim 嚴靜彤 (she/they) is a queer, Cantonese-American artist born and raised in San Francisco’s Outer Mission and Parkside neighborhoods on unceded Ramaytush-Ohlone land. For Fiona, printmaking is a way to learn more about local history, connect with other creatives, and express her hopes and dreams for the world. Their work is inspired by their advocacy experience, Chinese heritage, and city planning education.  In addition to their art practice, Fiona works at a transportation nonprofit advocating for a safer, more livable San Francisco. She holds a B.A. in Urban Studies from UC Berkeley, where her coursework and research focused on sustainability, land use, and community engagement. You can find her on Instagram @neverfinley .
