Twilight on the Tarmac raises over $75,000
A week on from our incredible Goondiwindi Twilight on the Tarmac event, we’re still reflecting on what a special night it was.
While we’re still finalising the exact numbers, we’re thrilled to share the event has raised more than $75,000 to support Nerve Connection Foundation’s research and clinical trials into devastating neuromuscular diseases including motor neurone disease and muscular dystrophy.
Thank you to our sponsors, everyone who donated goods, services, equipment and prizes, everyone who attended, and the many volunteers who gave their time to make the night happen.
A special thank you to local organising committee members Deb Rae, Alan Rae and Suzie Killen, and to Goondiwindi Councillor Julia Spicer for being such a fantastic MC and bringing warmth, humour and the perfect “captain’s touch” to the evening. ✈️
Because of nights like this, we can continue funding critical research and clinical trials aimed at improving treatments and bringing us closer to breakthroughs for people living with these devastating diseases — helping people like Nerve Connection Foundation Ambassador Matt Butler and many others.
A few candid moments from the night are captured here. If you spot yourself or someone you know, feel free to tag and share. 📸
A special night. A remarkable community effort. A real difference for patients today and those diagnosed tomorrow. 💙

As one of Australia's leading Neurologists and researchers in the field of Motor Neurone Disease, our very own Associate Professor Rob Henderson was invited to to be a guest speaker on MND Australia’s recent national webinar exploring the "Every Moment Matters" report. The webinar covered a ranged of topics that unpacked the true cost of motor neurone disease (MND) in Australia - not just financially but emotionally and socially.
