📣 The OG Magazine presents a conversation with Cuban-American artist, Nereida Garcia-Ferraz at Soho House Chicago! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The talk will be moderated by Anthony Spinello on the occasion of her solo booth presentation with Spinello Projects at Expo Chicago + her catalog release including a conversational text by Stephanie Seidel ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🥂 IN CONVERSATION: Anthony Spinello with Nereida Garcia-Ferraz Presented by The OG Magazine ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📍Soho House Chicago | 113-125 North Green Street Wednesday, April 10th, 8:00pm RSVP required. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “De Noche, Los Sueños: 1983-2023” marked Nereida Garcia-Ferraz first solo exhibition in Miami, her home of over two decades. Showcasing forty paintings on paper and canvas, the exhibition offered a first overview of the artist’s prolific output of forty years. Through an interplay of bold colors, and intricate layering of images, words, and charged symbols, Garcia-Ferraz explores questions of identity and interiority drawing from her personal experiences as an artist, an educator, a woman, an expatriate. A prolific storyteller, Garcia-Ferraz’s works weave together memory, history, intuition, and perception. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Born in Havana, Cuba in 1954, the artist emigrated to Chicago at the age of 16. Here, she graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and worked for many years in the city, before moving to the Bay Area for a period, and finally to Miami, where she lives today. Throughout these years, Garcia-Ferraz has maintained an enduring connection with her birthplace, which has continued to influence her work and her identity as an artist. A painter, poet, photographer and filmmaker, Garcia-Ferraz’s work is propelled by a tireless curiosity and the desire to share the depth of emotional and spiritual experience. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ — Stephanie Seidel #artcatalogue #cubanartist #miamiartist #artgallery #artfair #theogmagazine #sohohouse #artisttalk #expochicago #artcollector #painting #oilpainting

Spinello’s 20th Anniversary Exhibition — Changes: Reflections on Time & Space ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Changes: Reflections on Time & Space gathers fifteen artists whose practices have intersected with the gallery’s history. Drawing from founder Anthony Spinello’s personal art collection, the exhibition stages a dialogue between seminal works collected over the past two decades and new or recent works by the same artists—many of whom share deep ties to Miami. This constellation of artworks maps not only Spinello’s own trajectory, but also a chapter in the city’s evolving cultural landscape, reflecting the intertwined histories of place, practice, and community. Here, time is both a subject and a medium. The works span years, even decades, and carry with them the histories of their making—the social, political, and personal contexts that shaped them. Changes: Reflections on Time & Space is more than an exhibition—it is a time capsule, a love letter, and a testament to two decades of belief, growth, and transformation. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Artists include: Farley Aguilar @farley_aguilar23 Esai Alfredo @esai_alfredo Eddie Arroyo @developerssurvey Bernadette Despujols @bernadettedespujols Nereida Garcia-Ferraz @nerigf Elliot & Erick Jimenez @elliotanderick Kris Knight @krisknight Sinisa Kukec @sinisakukec Jared McGriff @watercolorbrother Reginald O’Neal @_reginaldoneal_ Marlon Portales @marlonart91 Nina Surel @ninasurel Naama Tsabar @naamatsabar Agustina Woodgate @lawoodgate ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🗓️ Gallery Hours On view till January 10, 2026 Wednesday - Saturday, 12 - 5 pm ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📍Gesamtkunstwerk Building 2930 NW 7th Ave. Miami, FL 33127 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Installation images photo by Zachary Balber
