Osborne is my most raw and revealing album to date, inspired by my journey through addiction, recovery and rebirth. The album’s lead single, “Loaded,” is out today and I wanted its video to be a cathartic commentary on pain management and the American opioid epidemic. 🖤

Osborne was born from my experience last year at Hazelden Betty Ford. After a decade of dependency on prescription painkillers and substances stemming from a spinal surgery, I checked myself into the Minnesota-based facility — where I was assigned to the Osborne unit, a letter off from Ozzy Osbourne’s surname but appropriated by patients as such. There was heavy metal-themed artwork, a guitar Clapton left behind, and DVDs of The Osbournes laying around. In the Osborne unit, I felt at home and a sense of love being unburdened by the stigma, shame and isolation that often comes with addiction. 🏩
A month later, I found myself in a California church basement honoring a commitment I’d made to make a new record with producers

@tylerchester . I scrapped the songs I’d written and wrote candidly about my experiences, trying to balance the heavy with humor and darkness with light. The album is rooted in my journey but to me feels universal to the human condition. I hope something in the music resonates with you. As the Buddhists says, “No mud, no lotus.” 🌱
