"My name is Ryan Jordan. I've been a resident of Centretown for the past five years. Before that, in the early 2000s, I started off competing in mixed martial arts in the onset of Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
And I came to a crossroads.
I either pursue my passion and become a pro fighter, which we didn't really know how that was gonna go back then, or get into the night clubs.
I was a club promoter for about 15, 20 years, in which my skills as a mixed martial artist definitely came very useful. You know, I worked at Security, a number of different bars around the city.
When I opened up my current project, which is Nefarious Comics, down here, 386-A Bank Street.
I'm a real big fan of Centretown. I've lived in different neighborhoods all my life, from the Glebe to Westboro, and I moved to Centretown about five years ago.
I think it's awesome down here. Right now, I kinda live my life in about a 20-foot radius. I go to Pure Yoga. I go to the Hartman’s down here to get my food. I live down at 340 McLeod, and I work at 386-A Bank Street. I don't think there's anywhere else in the city I would rather live.
Right now, I'm focused on doing a lot of these community-building events through my company, Nefarious Comics, because in my opinion, people's fandom doesn't just stop at the comic books they read.
They like going to these events, that they can connect with people, and really enjoy their passion, and talk to people about what they enjoy doing.
And guys, you know what?
If you're in the neighborhood, come check me out.
Say hi, talk to me about some comics, Nefarious Comics at 386-A Bank Street and thanks for checking this out."
