Ten souls stepped into Horseshoe Canyon, carrying with them grit, imagination, and a story that has lived in our hearts for six years. What began as a dream has become ¡Mamá!, a story about a mother’s love and her relentless search for her disappeared son.
¡Mamá! is not only a film, but a testimony: the story of one mother, and the echo of thousands more in Mexico, where absence has become a wound and remembrance a form of resistance. We also carried with us a sense of duty to our country, answering to the collective pain of a homeland whose soul aches in silence and whose memory demands to be honored.
Born out of violence, ¡Mamá! rises instead from a mother’s tenderness, her unshakable courage, and her enduring love — a reminder that even in the harshest landscapes, love persists and refuses to be silenced.
To our extraordinary team: thank you for your artistry, your heart, and your resilience. From the desert’s paralyzing cold to its unrelenting heat, you gave everything. Together we made ¡Mamá! a reality. Along the way, we forged bonds that will last a lifetime and deepened friendships already rooted in trust and love. Waldo, hermano, though you were missed beyond belief, your heart, your laugh, and your soul were with us every step of the way.
