As co-founder of events & netlabel @generalmerchant_ Paramat is known for promoting local music makers and hosting some of the most forward-thinking dance events across our city.

E Fishpool is a Budawang artist based across Budawang and Walbanja Country. Their work maps processes of unlearning and (re)learning identity through sampling sound, dialect and field recordings.
The compositions of E Fishpool are big, personal, intimate and at the same time warming and welcoming. Their open-ended reflections on time, impermanence and country are rooted in First-Nations experience, their own and that of others. E fishpool swells the heart, ignites the mind and touches the soul.
E Fishpool will be collaborating with ever amazing Kalyani for a very special live set under the newly formed Built Different guise.
Those who were lucky enough to catch their collaborative set at this year’s Inner Varnika know you’re in for a real treat.

A name we’re all familiar with now is Gillielove 🖤 an Eora-based music enthusiast and selector with a deep affinity for club culture, experimental sounds, and emotional soundtracking.
As well as gracing some of the most iconic dancefloors our city has to offer, Gillie also hosts the excellent ‘Off Duty’ show on Nomad radio that invites guests to share an eclectic range of sounds, episodes air Saturdays 2-4pm EST each month

Another artist we’re so excited to have in support of Loraine James is the wildly talented and unique Aarti Jadu.
Aarti works closely with the voice and composes cinematic, atmospheric pieces played live through electronic instrumentation.
Pairing classical elements, currently referencing chamber music, baroque and various folk traditions, with timbre of techno flavoured synthesizers, 808 and pop autotune, the work is idiosyncratic and purely based on context, place and state of being.

We’re super excited to bring you the NSW premiere of One of the UK’s most brilliant and boundary-pushing electronic producers and one of our idols, Loraine James!
Known for exploring the tension between club music and listening music, and between community and solitude, James has always tested the boundaries of dance music not for the mere sake of experimentalism, but as an expression of vulnerability and a vehicle for self-knowledge.
Using the emotional colours and sonic strokes of IDM, drill, ambient music and R&B,James has inked a musical landscape that accurately represented her queer, Black, British reality at a time when visibility has never felt more vital.
Join us on Saturday June 17 at the Civic Underground to witness her spellbinding live set with support from E Fishpool x Kalyani, Aarti Jadu, DJ Paramat and Gillielove.
