So happy that the journey will continue for Only When at Aesthetica Short Film Festival @asffestival this year! We’re so grateful for the selection at this really respected UK festival 🪁🪁🪁 we’re literally over the 🌙 !!! The section it’s showing under is DRAMA 10: One Fine Day. Three screenings in total. Thurs 7th Nov: 21:00-22:30 - Yorks. Museum. Sat 9th Nov: 13:30-15:00 - YSJU Sun 10th Nov: 21:30-23:00 - YSJU Do catch it if you’re in York for the festival! :) ALSO!!! A little bonus is that our gorgeous poster, designed by the amazing Mahya Soltani, has been chosen together with 19 others from all the selected films to be exhibited at the City Screen Picturehouse Cinema in York throughout the festival and until 30th of November. And will be competing for a prize too! 🤞🏼

Very excited to finally share some details about Only When You Bury Me in this Earth. This is a short film that I wrote and directed, a long running project that has taken a lot of love, sweat and the help of many many wonderful people to make (full list of wonderful people to come). 
 Some great news: Only When has been selected to screen at the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival 2024 @mhfestival and has been announced winner of the Human Rights award at the SMHAF International Film Awards 2024. The theme for the festival this year is In/Visible. Only When has many aspects to it, but I’m especially excited to be able to screen and discuss the film within the very important context of migrant mental health, a topic that I have always wanted to shed more light on. Screening is on Saturday the 19th of October 2024 at the CCA in Glasgow. Do catch it if you’re around.
 Here’s a little synopsis of the film:
Shaheen, an Afghan refugee, has lost contact with his brother who is travelling the perilous migration route to England. To cope, he makes and flies colourful kites. But when his kite crashes with a neighbour's drone he is forced to face the purpose of his migration and consider how to rebuild a shattered life.
