After much anticipation, the organisers of the inaugural Golden Hammer Awards have revealed the task facing the North East’s top joiners as they compete for glory and a first prize of £5,000.
We are excited to share that competitors will be asked to make a traditional hand cut roof, a diagram of which is included with this post. This is sure to test the skillset of the very best tradesmen, although we have no doubt the many outstanding joiners in the region will be up to the challenge.
Judges will be looking for accuracy of all the joints with minimal gaps, dimensions and pitch accuracy to the provided drawing.
There is still time to enter for the competition, on 30 May, @hartlepoolfe by contacting Angela Carney @carney_consultancy .
Second prize is a Makita DLX6100PX1 18V 3 x 3.0Ah Li-Ion LXT Cordless 6 Piece Kit (pic attached)
