Thrilled to reunite with @philschan , a true visionary in choreography! Our journey began years ago with @huang.ruo ’s piece, of my project America/Beautiful, touring with Oakland Ballet to the Kennedy Center’s 10,000 Dreams Gala. What a dream that was indeed! Phil’s dedication to my America/Beautiful project is simply unmatched, having listened to all 76 variations, and so many of them so many times, I’m grateful and I feel he knows the music almost better than I do! Now, we’re staging 4 pieces with Rutgers Dance. @masongrossdance What gives me most pleasure and pride is to see these youthful, passionate and carefree spirits dancing to this music and for me to invite my students to share the stage with me. @itsxiyuehuang , @christina_rose_keller . Phil and I also chose our alumnus composer @andrewbambridge ’s music “oh beautiful” to finish the beautiful set of three titans! @srimoonshinemusic Terry Riley’s Crown of Brotherhood, @vijayiyer Vijay Iyer’s Crown Thy God, and @nicomuhly Nico Muhly’s Refine.
