Principals of residential interior design studio NB Design Group, Whitney Emiko Maehara and James Kin-Ling Fung have launched their first capsule furniture collection under the label “Emiko James” featuring a selection of made-to-order, customizable pieces handmade in the Pacific Northwest.
The first two pieces of the collection - the Parker Daybed and Theo Coffee table (named after Maehara’s son and Fung’s nephew, respectively) are made of rift cut white oak and steel, and available in custom finishes, sizes and COM.
“After having the privilege of almost 15 years of working with clients to make sure that their visions of their homes are realized, we wanted an opportunity to give a glimpse of our design point of view.”
All pieces are manufactured in the United States just outside of Seattle. Information on @emikojames_nbdg can be found via the link in bio and inquiries can be made at [email protected]
Our Underwood project is still coming together, but this rich take on our Parker Daybed was too good not to share. Perfectly positioned to take in the sweeping views of the Columbia River Gorge, we imagine it will see plenty of use for years to come.
Last week we went to Los Angeles for the inaugural @aapi_designalliance gala. We are so proud to be part of this amazing organization and the founding members of the PNW Chapter.
We have grown so much as an organization in the last few years, but one thing has been consistent- the connections, friendships, and inspiration from this creative group of people.
If you haven’t already-join us! Whether you are a designer, architect, builder, maker, artist, or an ally, reach out to be part of our chapter and this amazing national organization.
Galloping into a new year filled with fresh energy and passion. Happy Lunar New Year!
