Repost via @Kodak : NBC News recently visited the Kodak Film Factory to see how film is made — and ask about what has led to the recent resurgence of film, especially among younger generations.
Kodak’s own Ed Hurley shares more in the @nbcleftfield short documentary “Why We Still Love Film.” Watch it in full via the link in our Stories (or on the Kodak Twitter and Facebook).

This is the view of #HurricaneDorian’s eye from inside an aircraft tasked with analyzing the powerful storm to gain some insight to better predict future hurricanes.
The @noaahurricanes scientists and flight crew rocked their way through turbulence inside of an airplane they named Kermit. @edouphoto was on board the aircraft with them. You can see more of his photos in our story or at the link in bio. .

Working on the edit for my next project. It’s a difficult one. I’m grateful to have worked with a shooter as talented and sensitive as Valerie @stokeseeker . 🎥
This summer, a community of resistance called Pu'uhonua o Pu'uhuluhulu formed on the access road that leads to the #MaunaKea summit, where Native Hawaiian protesters aim to stop the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope or #TMT. Protesters say they don’t oppose science and astronomy, but the further desecration of Mauna Kea.
@aliwithers went to #Hawaii to learn more. You can watch her film at the link in our bio 🌋
"The #TMT was just the straw that broke the camel's back. Every single telescope that came up, they told us that was the last one. There's 13 up there now. They never kept one promise." .

The #Hawaii Island’s #MaunaKea mountain, the most sacred site to Native Hawaiians, is also a prized location to the astronomy community as a home to many powerful observatories. Necolie remembers taking the pregnancy test in the bathroom and then throwing it at her husband. “I’m not doing this again,” she said.
By then, in late 2018, her husband had been out of work for three months. Necolie, who lives on the Florida Coast and asked that her full name not be used to protect her privacy, was borrowing gas money from friends so she could drive her three kids to school. During her last pregnancy, she had developed a serious liver condition and had to be hospitalized.
Necolie loved being a mother but knew that she wanted, and maybe needed, to end the pregnancy. “It was really difficult to get to that point, especially as someone who has been a Republican voter. … I was Catholic. I just didn’t believe in that for anyone, much less myself.” Necolie found a clinic in Tallahassee, about three hours away, that would accept her health insurance, but she needed to pay $600 up front for the abortion and then submit the receipt to her insurance company for reimbursement. “There was no money to go there and do that,” she said. Necolie sat down at her computer and started researching ways to give herself an abortion at home. .
