It feels impossible that it has been that long, because grief does something strange to time, some days it feels like a lifetime ago, and other days I’m right back in that palliative care room, sitting with our family, remembering every detail of that day as if it were yesterday.
So much has changed in nine years and there is so much I wish I could tell you, Dad. I wish I could share all the big milestones, and even more than that, all the small, ordinary moments in between.
I miss you in ways that time hasn’t softened.
But I also feel you. In the little signs and in every magpie that crosses my path. I always think of you and Mum, and I take comfort in believing you’re with me still.
Not a day goes by that you aren’t loved, remembered, and missed.

The first weekend of March I lost against gravity. Turns out that sore foot was sore because it was actually broken. I’m grateful I can be out it for the wedding day and I can still drive. Tomorrow I have a consult to assess if I need surgery after the wedding, or not. It could be much worse and I’m grateful I still get to walk down the isle @eljohnno94 11 days to go 🥰
