Touch of Filipino 🇵🇭🇺🇸🍴 ~ i love trying Filipino dishes in America because i love tasting growth and exposure. Filipino food isn’t a popular cuisine outside backyard family parties. It hasn’t reached Mexican food level but a tad on the Jollibee side, but that’s more Westernized. When i heard about @nativefieldsla , i was a bit excited to hear a new Filipino restaurant nearby my home. i love Filiipino food especially when it’s served buffet style with no labels, leaving you guessing what you’re putting on your plate. This restaurant was different. For me, too modern with the new way of serving folks who are social distancing. It’s the typical post pandemic vibes that take away from the hospitality of the past. i was hoping for outdoor seating but told with the lack of servers, i couldn’t stay outdoors on a beautiful day. So how many times was i approached by a server…three times…to take my order, bring my order and bring my bill. Little dissapointed with that. Silverware didn’t look presentable, trash on the floor, pay by app. i’d expect better. But with all that said, the Filipino inspired food i had was amazing. i applaud the food, hands down (at least what i ate). Anyway, that’s it for my rant. i’d love to visit a local party who is using them as their catering service to try more of that Filipino goodness.

@nativefieldsla pictures! Such a beautiful project we are very proud of! @cattyboombatty had us build the bar from scratch, she chose the colors, the materials and we designed it to her desire! Black tile, black grout, the stone top with a cement look but with a polished finish, the seats and the custom wood seats that she wanted. Stainless steel inside the bar and all the work here was done custom.

Sometimes you find a place so precious you just have to share it with everyone you know. Happened upon @nativefieldsla when deciding on a halfway rendezvous point for meeting my friend who lives in Upland. This was the 🙌perfect🙌 spot. Tucked into a small neighborhood strip mall is this jewel of a place. Incredible service, charming and approachable vibes and honestly the BEST quality food. Spanish Cortado was so satisfying. Just the right amount of cinnamon and spice. And the salmon toast was as beautiful as it was delicious (y’all know I will forever be a sucker for presentation). I went home with a box of Kouign-Amann (which I shall make quick work of this afternoon). True farm to table goodness and woman centric owned and operated. What’s not to love? Can’t wait to come back and tell all my friends!
