#update Feedback on Saturday Sanitation Exercise & Request for Waste Truck Support
Good day Hon. Tokunbo Wahab, @hctokunbowahab
The reintroduction of the Saturday sanitation exercise is a commendable initiative, and it was encouraging to see strong turnout and participation from residents during last Saturday’s cleanup.
However, a key challenge we observed is that refuse cleared from gutters and drainage channels was left on the roadside due to the unavailability of waste trucks. As a result, wind blew much of the waste back into the drainage and gutters, undermining the effort put in.
To ensure the exercise achieves its intended impact, we kindly request that adequate waste trucks be provided for every street across Lagos. This will enable timely evacuation of cleared waste and prevent it from returning to the drainage system.
We believe this adjustment will make a significant difference, and we trust in your commitment to improving sanitation across the state.
Thank you for your continued service.
