Game changing. So here's my face (hiding in the orchid enclosure) 𓇗𔓘𑁍 This year I opted out of making an artwork just for the gram™, because I am learning to overwork myself less. Trans joy as self care that is radical in terms of saying "no", being less available, stretching myself not so thin, allowing myself a little more, day by day, to look after myself more. Maybe, even one day, to properly take up space. 𖡼.𖤣𖥧𖡼.𖤣𖥧 I am perpetually tired out by the intersections that apply to me and how this feminist theory is all too visible in real life. I exist in the world as more than a trans person, luckily and unfortunately, and that impacts the very material realities of my existence. I used to educate a lot in terms of activism + art + content, but since this did not really support me, I have veered into a direction, that affirms my needs more and lets me live more at peace. 𖡼.𖤣𖥧𖡼.𖤣𖥧 We need collective struggle to improve our lived realities, but we also deserve this work to be done by more than just our community. So if I could wish for something on this ~ special holiday ~ it would be, for people to listen to us more, check in with us about our safety, educate themselves and stand by us, as our rights are being eroded more and more around the world. 𑁍 days like these make life so very worth living 𑁍 orchid fair with my angel friends ~ got some new additions from @orchisochid for our collection. 𓇢𓆸𓏲𓇬𑁍 a couple of years ago, getting into orchids and bonsai cultivation helped me recover from yet another scary big life thing & I am trying to keep my love and joy for them alive. because I truly found so much peace and healing in these tiny plants and am full of gratitude when I get to meet the professionals who work with them. ~ I always feel like getting to spend sun-filled cozy times with your loved ones, is really the point of it all. . . . #orchids #plant #flowers #healing

current work on main ? unheard of ! (-ish) Been having such a great time as a guest in the painting class and simultaneously been wanting to stay there but also finally graduate and do my thing out in the world :') I just love being in spaces with other artists & I'm afraid I'd really miss it when outside of university. I'd still seek to create these spaces, but it'd be much more work than just dropping into a studio here. /// In this economy, to afford a studio outside, one needs to work more hours in a day job and then consequently have less time to be in the studio. Kinda wild, kinda conceptual. Still, to dream of a studio outside in the city where I could invite people and discuss art, is really a big goal. throwback to 2023 // interacting with an art piece I got to manufacture for Tsai-Ju Wu’s (@tsj_ts ) diploma exhibition “My first group show”. It is a punching bag made entirely from scratch, filled with a hand sewn insert of 750g dried lavender and crafted out of canvas fabric with golden buckles.
