It’s UTS week

It’s not easy to convey that in order to create these photographs, I meticulously planned for the intersection of the sunlight direction and 100k & 50k routes, calling for a 2am hike up and down Llanberis path on an hours’ sleep; and that was the day before my 25k race.
It was definitely worth it though; I took one of my favourite photos on the first slide. And on the second slide, with the four horsemen arranged in a perfectly-spaced line.
Amongst a busy weekend shooting across a race in the Lake District, an event in London, and another in the Peak District, I returned to the yearly launch of the @alpinerunproject a programme which a couple of years ago I joined and through which a created for myself a career in photography.
I only know more lives will be changed by the programme this year, as myself and many others are living proof of that. Without the right opportunities, young people who aren’t as privileged no matter how driven cannot thrive to their fullest potential in life.
The old adage “success is when preparation meets opportunity” doesn’t work without opportunity.
Not to be soppy here or discredit my own hard work, but without @alpinerunproject and its enablers I’d still be working a soulless corporate job and would’ve never rediscovered my dream career.
