Recently, I’ve started looking at birthdays as a personal New Years Day - I’ve never been one for resolutions but the last year has been one full of new experiences, chapters, and beginnings so I feel like I should start my 34th year with intention.
I’ve played guitar my entire life but outside of the occasional live photo I never share that. So I woke up this morning and had a jam sesh with myself! I’ll get better at this whole thing but for now, thank you friends for all the love and encouragement I’m constantly surrounded by this past year and every year ❤️

Overdue life updates
• I moved to Bushwick with my love @alyssaviola and quickly became a tote guy
• Went out on my first post-AZ tour with some of the raddest humans @wave_to_earth
• Played my first post-AZ show with @daya and had a long overdue jam with @seevaldrum
• saw Oasis
• partied with me nephews
• drank a lot of pina coladas
This past weekend was truly a dream come true! I’ve always wanted to be an ice cream man and the fact that I got to scoop my own flavor was the cherry on top!!
Infinite amount of love and gratitude to Emma @milksugarlovenj for bringing this all to life! She is truly one of the most joyful people I’ve ever met who overflows with love for ice cream and everyone that walks into her shop! Not to mention she makes the best ice cream in the tristate!!

What a long strange trip it’s been! Since I was a kid this was my dream, to tour and make music with my friends! Thank you to anyone that ever hit play on one of our songs, came to a show, bought merch, or supported us in anyway!

One last rodeo tomorrow! I used to be so heartbroken and upset when my favorite bands broke up or went on hiatus and I’d travel as far as I could to be at their last show - As Tall As Lions at the Highline Ballroom in NYC, mewithoutYou at The Fillmore in Philly, and Thrice at The Observatory in Santa Ana to name a few. I never really understood why any of them wanted to stop making music I loved so much but now here at the other end of it the truth is, it’s not that anyone ever wants to stop. Being out on the road and being in a band is just an so much more work and sacrifice than I ever gave it credit for but I’d do it all again a thousand times. The past 10 years of A R I Z O N A have given me more than I ever dreamed of and tomorrow we’ll put that book away for the time being. I used to be scared of what life looks like past this era but now I’m excited for what’s ahead of me!
It’s ok to cry tomorrow, I definitely will, but let’s all make sure we dance and celebrate the music too. It’s done just as much for me as it has for anyone and I look forward to celebrating that with all of you. I’ll bring the tissues - see ya tomorrow!
