Like people, songs have stories. The more special the story, the stronger the connection.
Every time I hear this song, I’m hit with a flood of memories, from its birth in my room in Tehran in 2009, my sister improvising over the beat I had made, to performing it live in New York City for the first time.
My Clothes on Other Bodies has a very close place in my heart, it came from social realities in Iran, the life I was supposed to have, taken away, and the urge to take it back.
This track is one of the reasons I chose this path. I’ll always love it for that.

“A good music is the one that makes your head move left and right or back and forth,” a friend of mine said back in university, when I was blasting Audioslave in my car.
He meant it as a joke, but that sentence stuck with me. There’s definitely something special about the way your body reacts to that kind of music.

Next week, Hana and I will be closing the night for the one and only Truncate alongside the Nocturne’s talented artists. While we’re excited for this show, we’re also riding an emotional roller coaster as the human rights situation in Iran has reached one of its most critical points in recent years.
We’ve always believed that techno is a sound of resistance and resilience, and now more than ever, staying united matters.
We will dedicate this set to the brave people of Iran who are standing up with bare hands against an occupying and oppressive regime. Our heart are with you. For freedom. 🖤
