so I made a long-awaited return to where we used to live and dragged @fik_rriaa around Romford to take pics of “ancient historical monuments”. (She still lived there at the time 🤣🤣💀💀😭😭😩😩) (I mean, look at these absolute scenezzzzz)

Missed @vietfp 2025 Têt festival but we backkkk and snatched third prize 💦💦 not beating the witch or main character allegations
(Also not me accepting the prize on stage looking like slenderman in under thermals with oversized buffalo’s chewing on tôm cuon, some crowd aunties came up to congratulate me but also called me chicken feet/ legs 😭😭😭😭😭😭)

Since I go ON AND ON about this every year might as well make it a post init💀
What a ✨magical✨ weekend. On the Friday I met my ancestors for the first time 🤘🏻, learning the meaning of life and experienced being a violet lightwave and one with the cosmos💜. Saturday morning I learnt about violet flowers from the incomparable and dearly missed @manchandapanther at @miseryparty . On Sunday, I joined other Viet legends in a monumental (😉) community workshop before experiencing the @vietfp Têt festival for the first time ever. How did I make it into my mid-20s before knowing about the UK Viet Met Gala?!
@sophialuu22 won the first prize announced!! And I defo lost hope cos none of my numbers were called but right before em bé picked the final raffle, I held my mum’s Buddha necklace and said in my head “Bố, I met you as an ancestor on Friday and I know life is not about the material now but if you let me win this, it’ll really confirm our encounter and all the lessons I learnt.”
As soon as I said it, they said the winning ticket falls within a range of numbers that I had 3 of! Hence why these friends started filming (thank you btw!!! Obsessed with the capture & commentary). The rest is history (the history being yous having to hear about this annually).
Mum was so happy and cried when I got home and I gave her my free flight of course! Moral of the story: keep nurturing your connection to your ancestors and the beyond! To keep in touch with the Tea and the Truth! Which includes gambling clearly cos Viet people are soooo màu init 🩸💸🧧!

“My earliest memory of the Canning Town Old Library is my sister taking me there and showing me how to switch on the computer. She also showed me how to borrow books and get a library card from the librarian’s desk. I’d sit at the computer playing dress-up games while my sister was on music websites and doing her homework,” says Nancy.
As part of @newhamheritagemonth , our Community Researchers are collecting stories of Canning Town Old Library to help shape the future Newham Heritage Centre, opening here in 2027.
