It is with deep gratitude and immense pride that I officially step into the role of Vice Mayor of Coral Springs. Making history as the first Black woman and Haitian American to serve in this capacity is a testament to the progress we continue to make as a community. Thank you to my colleagues for your unanimous vote of confidence and to the residents who inspire my service every day. I am committed to continuing the work of building a brighter, more inclusive future for us all. -Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer Bowen 💁🏿‍♀️

On behalf of our entire family, we are deeply saddened to share the passing of my beloved sister Nancy Metayer-Bowen. She was not only a cherished member of our family, but also a dedicated public servant who committed her life to improving the lives of others. Throughout her years in public office, she led with integrity, compassion, and an unwavering sense of purpose. She believed in bringing people together, listening to those she served, and working tirelessly to create positive change in her community. To us, she was a source of strength, wisdom, and love—someone who always put others before herself. While many knew her as a leader and advocate, we knew her as a sister, a daughter, and a friend whose warmth and laughter filled every room. Her legacy will live on not only in the policies she helped shape, but in the countless lives she touched. We are grateful for the outpouring of support and kindness during this difficult time. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her remarkable life and the lasting impact she leaves behind. We ask for privacy as our family grieves, and we thank everyone for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. -The Metayer Family

Had an amazing time supporting @haitianladiesnetwork ’s Echoes of Excellence event. Thank you to @k_jeanpierre for sharing your journey and the powerful story behind your book. Your presence is a reminder of how important representation truly is. As the first Haitian American, first Black woman, and first openly queer person to serve as White House Press Secretary, your leadership continues to open doors and inspire the next generation to see themselves in spaces of power. Your legacy matters, and it was an honor to hear your story. ✨🇭🇹

We are honored to welcome Vice Mayor Nancy Métayer Bowen (City of Coral Springs) as a special guest at Fanm Futures Florida. @nancymetayerbowen Vice Mayor Bowen is a Haitian American public servant whose leadership reflects what it looks like to build with vision, consistency, and real results. During the conference, she will share a powerful message on the work she is doing, the impact she is driving, her goals for Coral Springs, and a direct message to women who aspire to lead in government and public service. We’re not growing at the expense of our community. We’re growing to elevate it. ✨ #CoralSprings #SmartGrowth #QualityOfLife

North Springs Little League Opening Night was a home run! ⚾💙🧡 There’s nothing like seeing our young athletes step onto the field with big smiles. And yes… they even let us pitch! Moments like this remind me why investing in our parks and recreation matters. It’s about community, opportunity, and creating spaces where families can gather and young leaders can grow.

I was honored to recognize the Holy Month of Ramadan with a proclamation. Ramadan reminds us of gratitude, discipline, and the importance of serving others. Being able to acknowledge this sacred month alongside our Muslim community was truly special. As many break their fast, I wish for peace, strength, and blessings. Ramadan Mubarak. 🖤🌙
